Yes, he got sidetracked in case of his abilities and has already learned from it. Like I said before, he IS scared but has to forcefully keep calm to deal with the situation. Again, sorry if I am not doing a good work with emotions. He slipped earlier, but that was neither a crucial phase nor could that have gotten rid of the ghost I assure you. Yes, it was a genuine slip up from Aiden earlier. Boy got curious about his ability. Can't say it was a wrong time either, cuz he was not around Hellen at that time and that might possibly have been the only chance in the short run, let's just say he was impatient to be alone to test his ability.

Ah! I had wanted to write about this but since you asked I'll just tell you since it isn't a spoiler and will come soon in later chapters anyway. What's happening is that Aiden has doubts about his ability. If you remember, he got the ability as soon as he looked at the murder scene. And when he asks around, looking at a dead super is definitely not the procedure of getting an ability. This is why he is cautious about his ability and intends to wait on this one. Also, there is something different about his 'condition' to use the ability, which is way different from all the information he has gotten on 'conditions', another reason he doesn't rashly expose it. There is one other reason which will soon be revealed in this volume itself (he doesn't know about it himself yet).

Bingo! Good reasoning. About the logic which could get him killed, like I said before, when faced with an opponent you have no information on, you gotta keep finding any information you can. Then, unless proven wrong, or until the information holds up, you could keep using it. Of course, there are ways in which even this procedure could lead to wrong outcomes, but it's the start, can't show everything now can I?

Sorry if I am doing a bad job at showing personalities. In short, you can think of Elias thinking of the common populace while Aiden is thinking of himself (by extension his sister, who he is more worried about, even if she was sent to the care center). Aiden is also more concerned about the morality of asking even aunt Hellen for help, but he puts that aside as his concern for his sister was greater. His thoughts, as I've put in the chapter are along the lines of, "Is it okay to put another life at stake simply because I want my and my sister's to be safe?" Aiden's issues with communications has a lot to do with his past. I wanted to give my characters flaws which genuinely have consequences. I'll write about his backstory in later chapters. (Haven't planned when, probably not in volume 1 but who knows.) Talking about pride, it's reserved for another character ;)

More about the first part will be shown in later chapters. You're in for a surprise. And it will be in this volume itself. About the monsters, hehe, that's an even bigger surprise. Hints of them will be sown throughout the story, it's part of the bigger plot.

I'll address your first issue, not asking for help isn't about pride. You see, he hasn't found any information on ghost on internet, (ofc, he hasn't searched for it but just through normally surfing there is no information about it. I mean, for such a dangerous topic, it should've been widespread already right?), second, he hasn't heard anyone talk about it either. Asking for help from one of the two people who have special licenses in the town was what he ended up deciding on, cuz they are people he thought were closest to being 'special' (no one has cars in this time period aside from these people who have special license) and also because Elias was son of the mayor, if there is supposed to be some important information, he has the highest chances of having it. (plus Elias is a hacker.) Second, the conjectures he had about the ghost from the few interactions are still holding up right? Not like they've been proven false. Sometimes you don't have the luxury of being provided with all information on opponent, you gotta find out what you can from all the small moments you interact with them, even if they are just theories from your side. About putting his sister's life at stake, he believes he has already put her out of harm by sending her to the care center. Talking about being calm, Aiden's calm is not the - I have everything under control calm. But rather - getting angry, nervous or panicking wouldn't do anything so force yourself to calm down and think for solutions kind of calm. For some examples it's the calm you see when klein (from lotm) was confronted with the fact that a possessing a book had put him on the radar of being killed and he wasn't sure if he was out of the radar yet. Tt's the calm of fang ping (from wbma) who had seniors out to kill him as soon as he joined the academy. Thanks for reading and putting out your thoughts!
