Love this chapter. All too often mcs always end up alone even in what’s supposed to be big operations. This casual interaction makes it feel more real.

That’s a bit of an understatement. If I had a way to all but guarantee a longer healthier life it would be worth a lot. Didn’t body refining guard against disease and make sure you kept your strength even into your old age? I know as I get older some of my greatest fears are sickness and just not being able to do what I used to as I watch myself degrade.

This just makes the mc seem bipolar. He rushed to fight without any plan and uses his new technique without testing it and now, out of nowhere, starts acting super cautious.

Yeah poison, once applied, has a very limited effective time span. Usually once applied the weapon has to remain bared to keep it from rubbing off. Finally to be really effective you need a special weapon that the poison can even stick to in the first place. Not to mention the method to apply the poison without poisoning yourself is not simple.

Wasn’t he forging a simple sword earlier?

A great concept wasted on repeation. The mc actually has a good reason to be op and a lot of the characters are both funny and interesting. The problem is the characters just run into the same issue over and over. The mc does something a little unreasonable but rather than deal with that the opponent suddenly does something completely unreasonable making it seem ok.

Then what are the humans wagering? It’s not much of a bet if only one side is putting up stakes.
