Sure, there might be new elements, plot twists, plot diversion, or an entirely new story that doesn’t resemble the original but the characters, place setting, and everything else are all borrowed. This fic is a fanfic of a fanfic because the author rewrote it already. So the person arguing about this is just a huge troll.
