He was trying to tell himself something that was clearly not true. Even though he knew it wasn't just a job, he didn't want to admit it to himself. Since living with Sophia, he's slowly realizing the consequences of his actions, and karma is haunting him. I wouldn't look for anything complicated about it. It's practically talked about a lot in other chapters as well.

Hello. Thank you for the review. It's just a pity you didn't write more. I'm relatively new to novellas, and I crave every opinion and every mistake I make. Honestly even I know this novella isn't great. Maybe not even good. And that's why I want to keep improving. I don't know where you ended up, but with a better understanding of the world, I would have read at least to chapter 15 and then written a review here. Thanks a lot for the review, and good luck.

First of all, I'd like to thank the author for a job well done and not a sloppy typical novel. The length of the novella is adequate for me and it is a nice read. The beginning is very interesting. The characters are well-written and it unfolds nicely. Keep up the good work, and as an author, I wish the author lots of luck and written words. I will be reading the novel and will be rooting for it. :)

After all, you get to know someone who puts in the work. Nowadays, finding a normal and good novella is a superhuman feat :D

The chapters are long and I like that. I don't like the novella type of a few words and then the end. Big plus. The world is beautifully written too, the characters are well written. So far 2 episodes but I rate very positively. I'll keep reading, and thanks for the good work ;)

Actually, the book cover made me click on it :D But I've read 3 chapters and I have to say I'm enjoying it. The beginning was quite different than others I've read and also great. Keep it up ;)

It's beautiful to read. The beginning drew me in immediately. The description of that world, the construction of that world is fascinating. I finally found something that made me want to read on. Keep it up!
