I do like myself a good system novel, and have written a couple myself, and Shen has done pretty well with this story. it's always been hard for me to follow along with Chinese or Korean names in novels, and I struggle to get attached to the characters when this happens, but this is in no way the author's fault, so I won't rate negatively for that. The world building, characters and plot are all pretty interesting, and I enjoyed reading up to the point that I did. There are a couple of cliche things here and there, but they wouldn't be cliche if they didn't work! There are just some grammatical errors, which are mostly letters missing at the end of pluralised words, no capitalisation at the beginning of a new sentence, or formatting issues like excessive paragraph spacing. There are some newbie errors like redundancy as well, which is usually seen as dialogue tags or elsewhere. Overall, though, I enjoyed reading Nexus, so make sure to give it a read!

This will be my third ever shameful review, as this is also the third novel I've started writing on Webnovel. Reborn with a Necromancer System, or RNS, is the story of a man who goes through many trials, and I'm really proud of the amount of work that has gone into this novel, the world, and everything about it. You'll see love, loss, revenge, grief, joy, sadness, and plenty of anger. I hope everyone enjoys reading just as much as I've loved writing it.

All in all, this novel is a nice read. You can tell that the author is just getting his bearings in the professional writing world, as there are some grammar and spelling issues. But mostly, it's just forgetting to pluralise words and sometimes a word will be missing the last letter, but you can still make sense of what they're trying to say. It's a typical reincarnation story featuring Arthur Grimwood, a boy of humble origins who got a second chance at life after leading a pretty miserable existence before his death. I've read several system novels and written one myself, so I understand them quite well, and Su5h1 has made a system that holds both more and less information than the usual one, including things that are possible to achieve, yet not attained. There are just a couple of gaps in realism which cause you to make a double-take. There were only eight chapters when writing this review, but I think you should give it a chance and keep an eye on the author and their future works as well, because they may achieve great things!

Where on earth did a 3-year-old find a sword he could use? Maybe mention him using sticks around the same length of a sword for his size to practice with?

As someone who worked in childcare for four years, I'll just say that if only a year had passed, he would have been two years old before this chapter, and he could have been walking around and speaking, so you might want to change something.

Shameless Review from the author themselves. I know, I know. Cliche. Fractured Horizon (FH) is my second serialised novel after My Undeath. I'm extremely proud of this novel and where it's leading to, so I hope you'll give it a chance. Feel free to ask me any questions you have here, or in the chapters themselves, and I'll answer all of them. FH is set in a futuristic world, but does not contain HARD sci-fi. It's more of a fantasy story in a futuristic setting. The first twenty-six chapters are a slow burn to the really good stuff. You'll meet, Ryne, the main character, see a lot of what the setting has to offer, the characters surrounding the MC, and get a feeling for what he has to fight for, and more importantly, what he has to lose. Be prepared for an epic story about adventure, love, loss, friendship, survival, and growth.

Reborn with a Necromancer System

Kai Tensen’s life ends in a freak accident, only for him to wake up as a newborn in a completely different world filled with magic, danger, and a “System” providing him with information and secrets of the world. But his second chance at life takes a deadly turn when he discovers the truth: he’s the first necromancer in over 500 years, and the world will do anything to see him destroyed. Hunted by the fanatical Inquisition, Kai must outwit bounty hunters, corrupt mages, and even gods themselves to survive. Guided by the enigmatic System and armed with forbidden powers, he uncovers the buried history of necromancy. As Kai’s strength grows, so does the danger. Each step into his newfound powers tests his humanity, forcing him to confront questions of loyalty, betrayal, and the cost of his ambition. But with whispers of a divine conspiracy and ancient relics that could shatter the gods’ control, Kai realizes his fight isn’t just for survival—it’s for revolution. In a world that brands him a monster, Kai vows to turn the tables. If they want a villain, he’ll give them one. The gods called him a curse, but he’ll prove he’s their reckoning. Death is only the beginning. Author's Note: As you may know, I'm also the author of Fractured Horizon, a slightly futuristic fantasy/sci-fi novel about mutated human monsters and psychics that battle them. I also wrote My Undeath, a reincarnation novel set in a fantasy world. It wasn't my best work, but I loved writing the story. I put a lot more time and effort into Reborn with a Necromancer System, and ironed out the details for a while, plotting approximately 500 chapters for all of you. If you liked either of my other two novels, this novel has a lot more planned for it than the other two. ----------------------------------------------------- Schedule: 7-15 chapters per week Chapter Length 1,000-2,000 words ----------------------------------------------------- Disclaimers: 1. This world is not like Earth. Applying common sense to some basic principles is pointless. 2. There are not any planned harems, but perhaps multiple love interests. ----------------------------------------------------- Inspiration: D&D is a huge inspiration for this. And I have played as a necromancer-like character in dozens of games, read several books that had necromancers as either the main character, or the antagonist. Death has always been something that has interested me when it comes to my fiction, so I am hoping to share that with all of you. ----------------------------------------------------- Support the Author: Please use coins/stones/golden tickets, or review my novel!

Fractured Horizon: Shadows of the Apocalypse

Nova City, Earth - 2,150 A.D Ryne, an athletic teenager with a penchant for parkour, is trying his best to survive in a world that does nothing but punish him. Haunted by the sudden death of his mother six years prior, Ryne’s father forced him and his sister to move to the neglected and financially disadvantaged district known only as ‘Fracture’. Within this unforgiving environment, Ryne endures physical abuse from his father and psychological torment from his peers. All the while fiercely protecting his vulnerable younger sister. Just as hope fades, Ryne’s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Brad and his group, kindred spirits who share his passion for parkour. As their friendship deepens, Ryne finds a sense of family among his fellow inhabitants of Fracture. However, a mysterious voice whispered in Ryne’s ears. [The apocalypse is imminent, one month remains.] With time running out, he must hold on to hope in the face of despair. As the countdown to annihilation unfolds, the mysterious voice sets various tasks for Ryne. When the time ticks down to zero, people across the globe manifest bizarre and extraordinary abilities while the rest of humanity transforms into grotesque and monstrous creatures. Ryne must confront his inner demons and make a choice—cling to the flickering ember of hope or succumb to the overwhelming despair surrounding him—all the while navigating a landscape plagued by mutant beings. ----------------------------------------------------- Author's Note: As you may know, I'm also the author of My Undeath, a reincarnation novel set in a fantasy world. It wasn't my best work, but I loved writing the story. I put a lot more time and effort into Fractured Horizon, and ironed out the details over the course of a year before writing and publishing it here. If you liked My Undeath, this novel has almost ten times more planning put into it before release. ----------------------------------------------------- Schedule: 7-15 chapters per week Chapter Length 1,000-2,000 words Disclaimers: 1. The 'Earth' in this world is not as we know it to be. Applying common sense is pointless. 2. There are not any planned harems. 3. Increasing powers/strength in this novel will feel similar to cultivation, but this is not a cultivation novel. 4. These creatures aren't zombies as you know them and will not be called such by the characters, but that's all I will say here. -------------------------------------------- Themes: fantasy, science fiction, zombie-like mutated creatures, adventure, dark, horror, survival. -------------------------------------------- Inspiration: Resident Evil definitely inspired the world. Growing up, I played the Resident Evil games and watched the movies. All of The Walking Dead never entertained me because it was mostly drama and hardly any tension. 28 Days/Weeks later, Resident Evil, World War Z, Army of the Dead, Train to Busan, All of us are Dead, Z Nation, etc. are all cemented in my brain as thrilling pieces of zombie fiction. -------------------------------------------- Support the Author: Please use coins/stones/golden tickets, or review my novel!

My Undeath

Gerard lived a peaceful life. He worked hard until retirement age and watched as his children and their children lived their own lives. One night, he woke to find himself in the presence of a divine entity who explained that he had died in a terrible accident. After being offered several choices, Gerard asked to die peacefully. Respecting his wishes in an unexpected fashion, they allowed him to become a skeleton in a world of sword and sorcery, becoming dead in every sense of the word. An undead creature... Thus begins the tale of Gerard's undeath. ------------------------------------------------ Note From Author: My Undeath is currently on hiatus until the 15th of December, 2023, as the author works like a madman for 50 hours a week while studying for their Bachelor's degree. ------------------------------------------------ Power Goals: 300 Powerstones = 1 Extra Chapter 500 Powerstones = 2 Extra Chapters 750 Powerstones = 3 Extra Chapters 1,000 Powerstones = 5 Extra Chapters Golden Goals: 100 Golden Tickets = 1 Extra Chapter 500 Golden Tickets = 5 Extra Chapters 1,000 Golden Tickets = 10 Extra Chapters ------------------------------------------------ Schedule: 4-14 chapters per week Chapter Length: 900 - 3,500 words (currently averaging 1,660 words per chapter) Disclaimers: 1: This novel may not suit your tastes. The main character is an elderly man trapped inside the body of a skeleton, persecuted and hunted by the living. He must sometimes turn to the darkness within him to survive his tribulations. There will be a few dark times, indeed. But fret not, as there may be an end to some of the darkness eventually. 2: There is no planned romance, and Gerard definitely will not have a harem. No planned romance doesn't mean there won't be any, but it will be kept light and not detract from the overall story. 3: There will not be fast-paced, fist-clenching action in almost every chapter. Sometimes there will be a bit of conversation between the characters, but I try not to let these moments drag on longer than they should. 4: The main character spends a lot of time levelling up in the beginning, as he's cautious about the powers of the world and wants to protect himself. This leads to a little less story in the beginning and more action/adventure, but as time passes, the story becomes a bigger focal point. 5. One of the main character's goals is to regain his humanity. So, be prepared for this story to eventually change dynamics. ------------------------------------------------- Discord Server: https://discord.gg/B8z9yX3QwQ Please feel free to join the Discord. There's also a Gerard bot! ------------------------------------------------- Themes: fantasy, video-game-like system, evolutions, magic, adventure, dark, survival, reincarnation ------------------------------------------------- Inspiration: I gained inspiration from plenty of video games and fantasy novels, and this story is directly inspired by the Manga and Anime: Berserk. I think the relationship built between Sprite and Gerard is similar to Puck and Guts, giving a way for Gerard to voice/think about his opinions. Sprite/Puck are characters who hear those opinions and help the main characters reflect.
