I agree with some, who point out that there may be a taste for kuahel for maxi, but he sets his limits, he is very committed to his position and to the church that was imposed on him since he was a child, it is the only thing he knows in his life . Maxi is the first woman he has interaction with, and he actually trusts her. Even though he had to take care of her, perhaps out of fear of Riftan, he stayed close to her from the beginning.
