Whatever makes the most sense for you. I did not want to waste too much time on the topic. It was just meant to be a bit of fun world building. The group may or may not have to fight a queen in the future. I have not decided if it is something I want to have happen. There are multiple ways it could work, though. I never specified what would happen if a queen is killed or if the offspring does not survive. One example would be a hormonal reaction. Like a Queen's body can't produce another female if she senses younger female of her clutch in nearby. Or you could say that princes are able to change sexes in the event a queen dies. This is already a thing many fish irl do.
