I might be nitpicky on this, but sometimes these little details elevate the story to a whole other level for those with knowledge of these topics, and can be make or break. I also understand that this is an early chapter and these things probably stop being relevant or mentioned later on and that the writing quality probably improves later.

There’s no way Ippo is using 10 kilo (~22 lbs) dumbbells, even at the beginning(unless it’s for specifically lateral raises, but even then I think it would be higher, likely 15(~33 lbs) kilos). He’s likely to be curling 20-25 kilos(44-55 lbs) and dumbbell pressing 30+(66 lbs). I’m mainly saying this cause I’m slightly athletic and easily curl 10 kilo dumbbells, but I’m significantly weaker than beginning of series Ippo. And I struggle to believe your protagonist, who it athletic(as shown with the bully scene), is only using 3 kilos(6.6 lbs), it would make more sense for him to be at the 10 kilos(22 lbs) you put Ippo at.
