Hey Eri, No, I have not, sorry. Between School, Work, and Writing two chapters a day I don't get much time. I'd be happy to join though, but please keep expectations tempered, I will contribute as necessary, but as I said, my time is severely limited.
Thank you for your insight, I am sorry that it wasn't to your liking, but I appreciate your feedback. Personally, the closest thing to an MC would be the Scholar. There are more and it becomes clearer as to who the two main foci are by the end of Book 1. However, they are not immensely more important than the rest of the cast. The idea being that every character has relevance, none possess plot armor and anything can happen. Time is required to build an empire and a Lineage has to start somewhere. So the pace of development will be glacial, but the first three books are meant mainly to set the world. What combat is like, who the antagonists behind the curtain are, and the descent of a world at relative peace towards an era of conflict. After Book 3 the main focus is going to be on kingdom management, development, and upkeep. So, I know this has been a long winded response, but the short answer is that the entire caravan and its people are nominally the main characters, with the Scholar and the young arena champion as standing slightly above within that group. Hope that helps.
His teacher wasn't actually a master, he could only teach him so much and even that doesn't cover everything. You can think of it as someone who only learned martial arts to the intermediate level teaching someone else. You can only really cover the basics. The main goal is to show depict or hint at the supernatural elements that exist within the story. These start to ramp up closer to the end of book 1 and in the later planned books, its an incremental growth.
Thanks, glad to see that you are enjoying the story.
Hello Everyone, It is obvious that my own personal review as the author will be biased and I didn't really want to do this, but I would like to use this to encourage to review this work. However, I honestly believe this is one of my best works and I have spent months refining the initial story, designing the economic systems, cultural diversities, using research of ancient civilizations as the basis of research. I personally do not like the one man army trope, that is why I enjoy mixing tactical combat and more logical approaches to war which is reflected within the story. Tactics used and the technologies present in the initial stages of this series do have some mention in ancient history, with some minor modifications at times. Magic or supernatural elements are present, but they do not make immediate appearance and are hinted at earlier in the story. It's evolution you will have to witness yourself as I do not wish to spoil anything. As for the characters, I truly believe this one of the strongest areas within the story when excluding combat. Characters are individuals, they have personalities, they act differently based on the scenario and will change with events occurring within the series. There are a handful of slightly more important characters, but for the most part ALL characters have value, that also means plot armor will be minimal at best. Word of warning. I will promise at least 4 chapter releases per week, Mon-Thurs EST. Depending on how quickly I am adding to my buffer, I may be able to release additional chapters each week. At most you will get a chapter a day, for 7 chapters a week, which is only possible if I am able to write a chapter each day to add to my buffer. Other than that I believe this is a story that you should definitely explore. What I would ask, if you have read up to this point, then if you could leave a review I would appreciate it. I want to know your thoughts and how I can improve upon my story. So, when you get to chapter 10 or somewhere further along, whenever you believe you have seen enough to provide constructive criticism, I would appreciate that.
