I'm a fighter myself, it's hard to hit that place and if based on my experience you should hit its ribs or liver for more fatal damage then you can punch the face when you hit his liver because it's so painful to move and breath, liver punch is way more appropriate if you like a more realistic approach in fighting in this scene.
