A very interesting story about a sultan that I've always felt sad about, guy wanted to get rid of the ottoman praetorian guards and was thwarted by his wife. The slight issues I have with the story is the sheer improbability of the sidelining of islam in a manner that wouldnt happen without letting go of the arab regions, the empire is majority muslim and unlike otl turkish republic and ataturk have yet to be betrayed by its muslim inhabitants, OTL Mustafa Kemal Pasa went full secularism and lacism because he knew that the citizens of his new republic were not gonna be the religious part of arabia but from the anatolian heartlands with turks, the millet system however was a great way to balance both but also maintain the islamic nature of the empire. the way Osman here has gone is primed for rebellion from its arab regions and losing them, it wouldve been better if he maintained his religious background but also brought in equality for the non muslim part of his empire aka balkans, as it stands now this feels way too unrealistic and optimistic and purely with Turkic peoples in mind and not the rest of the empire
