More than likely it's an AKM as that is the most mass produced variant of the AK pattern series of rifles on the planet. The differences are minor, but they are still distinctive firearms. Most of the time when you see an "AK-47" in media or fiction it's actually an AKM.
The novel isn't dropped, but the updates have become irregular as I have a new novel that is outperforming all of my other novels that are currently somewhat active by a wide margin and because of that it has become my focus. I will drop chapters for this novel, Interstellar Age, and Netori whenever I have the ability to do so.
Yes, this literally happened in WWI. The Americans used a rifle known as the Springfield 1903 that was an unlicensed copy of the Mauser 98 design. They were sued because of it, and while the war was being waged in Europe, and American troops were using the Springfield 1903 to shoot at German soldiers, the American Government which owned Springfield Armory as a nationalized corporation, was paying royalties to the Germans as a result of a lawsuit.
I should specify, though there were women who smoked prior to the 1920s, it was generally two types of women who did so: the rich, and the indecent. After the Great War came to an end, and basically all of traditional western civilization with it. The flood gates opened and things that were simply not acceptable in the past became the norm.
I mean smoking tobacco has been linked to elevated testosterone levels. So you may be onto something...
His Princely status in Russia is hereditary, his sons have it regardless. It's not a landed title, so he doesn't have to worry about choosing which child or grandchild holds it. They all get to be called princes and princesses by virtue of being his offspring. As for becoming a German Prince, that remains to be seen, keep reading to find out.
I'd hardly call the USSR a superpower. Their sole claim to the status is their massive nuclear arsenal, which was built on the backs of the captured German Scientists who were already researching in that field of study for years. Everything about the USSR, whether it was terms of military prowess, cultural achievement, agricultural output, or economic success was significantly behind their rivals on the global stage. The USA discovered in the 1980s that the USSR's military spending was less than a quarter of their own. The USA literally caused the Soviet Union to collapse on itself, simply because of the Arms Race between them that the Soviet Union could not sustain due to their abject failure of an economy.
Western soldiers have been smoking cigarettes since the Crimean war in 1853-1856. They became increasingly popular however, in the 1880s when an industrialized process was patented to manufacture them en masse for public consumption. Men and women both smoked them, but I think you might be thinking of "cigarette holders" which were primarily used in propaganda by women.
The Hague Convention was not held until 1899. Which was well after the Civil War ended. Let me put this into perspective. During the First World War, the United States was sued internationally for infringing on the patents of the Mauser 98 pattern rifle design, which they stole and used in their Springfield 1903 rifles. While they were using said rifles to shoot at German soldiers in the Trenches they were paying royalties to the German Mauser corporation. Both the US Constitution and International law of the Era prevent US seizures of his stock holdings. And if they did so in violation of these statutes, after the war was over there would be hell to pay in recompense after he takes them to international business court. This is, of course, assuming the United States actually gets involved in the war within this timeline.
