They were made from the best materials he had and were so masterfully enchanted that they would cut through rocks like butter. Just for context, Hajime had a clear goal of going home and reuniting with his parents. The MC here is just going with the flow without any proper direction. Becoming god was something like in his checklist. It was there but that was like a side goal to achieve.

Think of it this way... We were never given a particular time period when Hajime reached Fuhren. But he got out of orcus, found Shea, helped her, then Reisen, then Brooke, Fuhren, last Ur... *Alex, on the other hand, got out of orcus earlier, but wasted 3 extra weeks in Reisen, then helped Shea, then again Reisen for Shea, then Brooke. So, I just made him around 2-4 weeks later than canon. And Alex didn't want to waste time on saving the town even if he could.

Imagine something like this with a barrel in the gap between the blades and a little loop for chains to go in at the end of the hilt.
