As someone who has only read the manhwa version of The Novel's Extra(which at this time is not complete), I can't exactly say how much of a ripoff of that this is. I can certainly see many familiar elements. But I also see many of its own unique things. So I'll just review it as its own thing. One thing that sets this novel apart from other stories with a system is that the system is not very gamey. Most of the progression is very incremental, and none of the characters have a ton of skills and abilities to use in battle. In fact, the stripped-down nature of things actually works to the story's benefit since it allows the story to focus more on what happens in the story rather than LitRPG progression. I also like the skills. They can't level up and have defined ranks, but even a low-level G rank skill can still be useful at the highest of ranks. All in all, I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
Everblood as a villain is just not handled properly. There's definitely a lot of potential for a villain/antagonist who is obsessed with the main character and constantly is around them driving them forward. There's numerous examples of other stories using this to great effect. For example: Mang Ryo, the main villain in "Legend of Asura: The Venom Dragon," who Everblood is basically a copy of. Heaven from "Lightning is The Only Way." The God from "Sword God In A World of Magic." All of these are excellent villains due to how charismatic, evil, threatening, and consistently present in the plot they are. Everblood is threatening and evil, but doesn't show up often enough to be memorable.
I honestly like thag he has to struggle to adapt to the concept of killing. Most characters that become used to killing do so a little to quickly or easily. Sometimes they'll just suppress their emotions until they don't feel it anymore. Maybe they'll just think "You gotta do what you gotta do" and get over it like that. Maybe the one they kill is so evil they feel justified in killing them. Or they'll just kill and think "Huh, I surprisingly don't feel anything when killing despite having never done it before. Is something wrong with me?"
