Maybe a little later, the MC could train his psychic powers then obtain Beldum, after all his starter is an Axew. I would recommend adding the powerful Pokemon to his team slowly instead of adding a lot of them at a time. It would be nice to see the development in the MC's bond between the MC and his starter Pokemon.
