The only place I'd let my guests sit at such poor arrangement would be in places where it's the best I can offer, like my grandfather's old hut. If I'm hosting a proper event, that's absolutely unacceptable for my guests! I couldn't care less for my own, but I have to care for my guests as a host. I hate the whole trope with noblemen treating commoner guests poorly. If I saw a fellow nobleman treating ANYONE poorly at an event, I'd blacklist that nobleman. Events are where we show off our kindest and best selves so to see such terrible behaviour when at your best...
