Well in the end it all falls into your hands on how you write it. There's also the option of writing different routes and endings like you mentioned for the game. But I wouldn't recommend that, that would be too much work and thinking since this is not a visual novel, its just a novel.

In the past, I used hate harem novels, but now I don't really hate them. I hate bad harem novels, where the author makes fl fall in love with weird ass reasons and stuff. But after reading and reading, I even liked some of the harem novels. For example the manhwa "Webtoon Character Na Kang Lim" which I quite enjoyed.
