Honestly, I don't have any DxD knowledge outside of a few fanfictions, but I still enjoyed this one immensely. I would even say that this is at least in the top 1% of all fanfictions. And the ending, while not exactly satisfying, was still quite good and kinda fits this story. All in all, while there were quite a few ups and downs, with some downs even almost making me drop it, I was able to complete this. And yes, for those asking, its like 3 am and I just finished the last chapter.
