well, here's a piece of advice. To make the MC seems more intelligent and cunning, you don't have to write entire paragraphs of his inner monologue and plans. Just make it seem that the MC is just average while prove his intelligence by his actions. It is weird when he's bitching in his mind while telling the readers about his plans. It would be better if you give a plot twist to some actions which are done normally, Example: "Please turn on the TV" A Dumb MC said. "(Name of the side-character)" The Smart MC closed his eyes and said, "Turn it on." Here, He MC did not specify the thing, and left it to others to think. To me, an intelligent MC would never reveal his plans in detail. He would just give orders according to the situation after giving out the basics of the so-called plan. P.S, A smart person would never interact with so-called cannon fodder to prove his point or just to face-slap them. ... That's it.

In fact, two of the chapters in this novel are inspired by that IDK ff. I read that Chinese FF, half-a-year ago. P.S this novel is was just inspired by that Chinese FF, the rest is OC.
