This is a good book if the author polishes out some rough corners. The premise of an apocalypse with mythological elements is very interesting, and the book contains many inspirations to great media and mythology alike. I haven't been past the tenth chapter, but the world also promises quite a bit. In all, give it a read if you don't mind the following, which will hopefully be tackled by the author: - While the author is not a native English speaker(neither am I), it would be unfair to not grade his writing impartially. As such, I'd say the writing needs a fair bit of work in regards to grammar, spelling, formatting and pacing. It is readable, but it could be better. - The main character commits a dislikeable act(though he is portrayed as a benevolent, or at least, decent man) that isn't justified because a part of his character arc is ignored for now. Hopefully the author will do so. Otherwise, the work is better than a lot of books on Webnovel. Unlike many books, one can see effort being put, and if the author keeps at it, then this will be a book worth reading by all!
This web novel is worth giving a read. While the whole package is standard, it is above average in everything it tries to do, and most importantly: entertaining. The writing is decent, allowing for smooth reading(a few tense shifts though). The story, while going in a predictable manner, is moving forward in such a way that fans of the genre will enjoy it. The character design is also done rather well, though a bit more superficial than it should be for the MC. And finally, the world background: Behind the curtains, I can distinguish a functional world background, but it is hinderd by various info dumps. Introduce the world through slow exposition, I'd recommend. Good work. Give this a read.
I don't think I'm the target demographic for this novel. However, here are my thoughts down below: The novel itself is a fairly standard OP system novel, though it sometimes feels like a fusion of system novel cliches rather than an original work. I think people will enjoy it, however. The writing was rough at the start: Overly long sentences, tense shifting, weird syntax, and sentence formation all contributed to a somewhat difficult reading experience. However, the author is editing the earlier chapters, and I believe they will be made better. In the later parts of the novel, the writing progresses - while still rough on the syntax and formatting, the reading experience is good. No one cares about the updating stability, do they? Now onto the story itself. It's quite a standard power fantasy: enjoyable in small doses throughout the day. The title says it all, and I think many will enjoy it for that. Ughhh, the character design is what breaks it for me. The mc thinks, acts and talks like a child despite being an adult, a trait I dislike. The character progression is also fairly standard; more confidence as he grows stronger. The world background is alright but can be improved through fewer info-dumps and more soft exposition. Good work.
I think this is a book worth putting in library and following. First of all, the author is polite and replies well to feedback, and that already puts him above most. While I have mixed views on the book, here's a disambiguation of those: - The story development, character design, and world background are all good. I can see the needlework that the author put in order to add depth to the world and make his characters distinctive. While I don't enjoy very dark works a lot, I think this novel tackles dark themes decently, even sprinkling in bits of philosophy here and there that remind me somewhat of Berserk. - While the sum of the story is functional, I have issues with the writing. The author has a decent grasp of grammar but needs to work on punctuation and syntax, as some sentences have way too many punctuation marks while others have none. Other sentences are constructed awkwardly, losing their meaning in the process. My biggest advice to the author would be: write short sentences. You won't lose yourself in complex grammar, and the meaning will be clearer. Another issue with the writing is a more important one. You tell too much. There is work put into the exoskeleton of the novel, but it all loses its value if you throw it to us instead of gradually showing it. With that, I think the author will do a fine job in the future and wish them good luck. Give this book a read.
It's hard to make a judgment so early, but this story is setting my judgment in stone. The writing is great: much much better than the mediocrity one can find sometimes on this platform. While good writing instantly makes a story better and more enjoyable to read, the plot itself carries the reading to new heights. Sci-fi is a criminally underrated genre within the Webnovel website despite being one of the most imaginative and, well, speculative genres. Paladin-X follows up with that, and a story set within our very own solar system - a good segway into the world background. If I said the world background was bad, I'd be saying our own universe is badly written then, no? Now, onto the characters. I don't have a clear idea of the characters, nor has the short quantity of chapters given me enough content to decide whether I enjoy them or not. Overall, this is a book worth looking forward to and reading. Seriously, with how much mediocre content is pushed around nowadays, I'd say - treasure the true gems from amidst the pebbles, and give this book a read!!
Here's my review of this story. I would rate it at 4/5 stars, and here's my reasoning for the score; - Writing quality; 4/5 stars. You have good grammar and narration, and it's readable though small punctuation problems hinder it. - Stability: 5/5 - Story Development: 3/5 stars. The story follows the typical ABO story plot and development and is enjoyable, though does not offer a twist or a spectacular development. - Character Development: 4/5 stars. The characters are fleshed out and the reader forms a connection to them. Good job. - World Background: 3/5 stars. From what I've read, the world is functional and works for the context.
Down below is my review of the novel: Writing: 4.2/5 You master grammar, but the punctuation problems and bland narration at first bring down your score(though 4.5 is the most I'd ever give to something that's not professional) Updating Stability: 5/5 Story Development: 4.4/5 You did a lot of things right here. Character Development: 4.5/5 As good as I can give to a web novel. You did great working with Eldric, I'd have to read more to see how the other characters are fleshed out fully, so 4.5 for now. World Background: 4/5 Your world is functional, though I can see behind the background the promise of something great. Overall: 4.5/5
A novel nudged to a nascent and natural quality by the conviction of a newbie novelwriter. If I may analyze it, there are numerous narrative qualities within the novel that display the needlework and neurons that the author would be willing to place within his work. Notwithstanding, the current novel and nappy manner of the writing is not negligible, though I nonetheless believe that the novelist has what it takes to summon his nebulous ideas and knack into a magnum opus in the near future. With that, I commend the novelist for their namesake and wish them a noteworthy noontime!
