It does get better, the author's style of writing gets way more furnished than it is at the moment.

I'd say it's prolly like he was hurt after what happened at school and he wanted to get back at them (which includes Aoi) so revenge here basically. But like he's good deep down and that's why he realizes his mistake and start's feeling guilty about it. Which is why when he sees her, he gets flustered and runs away. Like he wasn't really evil incarnate. The situation changed him as such.

This is a really good novel and this is very highly recommended. The story building here and the quality of the writers' writing itself makes you feel like you're in a journey along with the protagonist. This is not one of those novels where u get bored in one chapter and get excited in one. This novel will keep you excited througout the journey! This is a great read!
