so I dont get why in shape shifter werewolf novels, they are such extra petty humans? Wild wolves aren't petty or mean spirited so the shape shifters should be less petty than non wolf humans, right? in wild wolf packs, the alpha wolf is more like the father of the pack and doesn't bully or force but leads with wisdom and compassion and the wolves choose to follow him and the Alpha female. Soooo not sure why the alpha in Lucan novels is often a jerk, and the majority of the relationships are a bit toxic. It isn't romantic to marry someone you don't like and then treat them abusive. I get you write him how you like him, and this is just my opinion, but an alpha personality can take charge, lead people, and get things done without being a domineering jerk.

1st sentence kind of difficult or awkward to read. especially at this spot " ..was breathing raggedly when she could feel the pleasure she rode mixed with the pain.." suggestion: use active verbs instead.. 'she breathed raggedly as her pleasure mixed with the pain...' I know so rude to offer a rewrite, but only did this because a confusing 1st line could scare off your readers.😅

"Zurich was not a fool to not notice." kind of a double negative again yanking me out of the story spell to think that your saying Zurich knew about the maid's crappy attitudes. I am seriously wondering if you want readers to stumble out of your story with your phrases.
