I like this, rules are made to bring order so this makes a lot of sense.

I think that u should implement time skip during traveling it will make the evolution of the fungus to different stages more realistic as no way they evolved this quick in the story so a time skip of 1 to 5 months of traveling would've been sufficient to explain the evolution plus after the skip I think that it's better u show more scenes of bonding and survival skill both of them are learning in the apocalypse to develop more of the story. A little mix of slice of life, romance and action would be nice.

Thnx for the chapter, I hope the Mc would start focusing on more of his natural affinities in magic like the poison element (at the moment he only uses wind but he is a green dragon that is born with poison element why waste his potential ??? ), in fact you can try making him combine both the poison and wind. Example would be that any wind attack he does also causes poison. But regardless of what u decide I will support you author ❤️👍

It would've been great if ellie is the child of Sarah and Bruce. And they did not get united with Joel until the moment of the last of us game started. Alternatively they could also start the last of us by tracking down ellie that got separated from them and consiquently they found Joel with ellie???
