this still doesn't make sense. I feel like he had the same sense of brotherhood from his football team as he did with goggles and them. in fact I think he spent more time with goggles then the football team.
wait. what?! all the souls? including the 5 or so really important people to him. this doesn't make sense at all.

how will he pass the test. he hasn't killed any monsters. can't go to level 2 and will be kicked out of the tower.
use fog. kill some monsters. extract. level up. then go to the center. and try to repeat.
humans could have stolen the technology from the tower, allowing them to create something more advanced without fully understanding it. or the only way for them to work and communicate was to tap into the tower itself, causing the watches to be "part" of the tower.
