They all know that and accept that before going out into the field. Dark guilds are a thing there and they do kill people. Monsters are also very much lethal.

He needs an accessory he can wear all the time that either makes him immune to status effects or weakens them. There are a lot of those in that world plus he needs to be immune to mind control and charm.

I mean he actually hid all the bad stuff from her so that she was not exposed to it to much and thought he was a good guy because of it. It may have all been an act but it could have been way worse for her.
