One of the problems I have with some books are they have to explain and justify everything. Other books would just say it had a certain amount of space and move on but this comes with all kinds of rules I know I won't remember as a reader. (and suspect the author will also gloss over) I'm not a fan of filler exposition. I'm not playing the TTRPG that comes with this book, if you catch my meaning

right? he can literally teleport but that was forgotten the whole fight so the author can say "he had no options" 20 times

Could have been pretty interesting. The author sets up a world with many different types of monsters and abilities but literally only talks about ghosts. The main character could have tons of different abilities and multiple power systems and even mentions at the start he would like to do more than one. Then, he quickly focuses on one. boring. It is a waste of the premise
