This is a misunderstanding. Pure gold is never used in coinage or artifacts as it really is too soft, other metals are always added to increase durability. So when you bite into a coin and you leave a mark, that's a clear indication you have a false coin. Usually made from lead with a thin layer of gold or possibly pyrite (fool's gold)

This book has been abandoned! So, reader beware, this ends abruptly mid chapter. A pity as well, since it was starting to show some staying power, rather than fizzling out like so many of Quidian's novels... (Sigh)

Point of interest: All snakes are venomous. even constrictors like the Python and the Anaconda. However only a very few are acually poisonous (I.E dangerous to eat) Constrictor venom is comparatively weak and they have developed other methods of killing
