Yeah. The changing of events between chapters is unreadable.
I enjoyed a lot of this novel. Especially the beginning. However towards the end things spiral out of control, especially the romantic relationships. Ciri and Saul being in love was so forced and abrupt it was weird (not to mention the huge age gap, difference in interests, goals, and character). Same with Victor and Misty and the MC with V. It just got weird and unnecessary, feeling forced instead of natural. Like making the corporate V talk about being a slut who slept around with her bosses in the first meeting with the MC. It was unnecessary and not something brought up in a first meeting with a stranger. It is also clear that the author wanted readers to feel disgust because some other interactions are handled well. The inter dimensional travel and conflict also was poorly done. Leading me to give up before finishing the very end. Introducing magic to cyberpunk was a dangerous gamble that didn’t pay off in my opinion. However. I will say that while the translation is bad, the story is certainly creative and willing to come up with something new which has a strong appeal to it. I unfortunately feel that some of the major narrative choices were ill conceived, and really hurt the overall story.
A very honest review that I resonate with deeply after reading this for a while.
If you think that is bad. He later goes to rescue Syr and Bell. Finds Bell having been raped by Apollo. Then he proceeds to kill Bell so that he isn’t threatened by Athena using Syr as a hostage. It’s portrayed as some big brain move. The whole conflict was orchestrated so poorly.
A sometimes enjoyable but frustrating story. I gave up at ch85. The story wants to be a happy go lucky harem story where everything goes ok. But it also wants to be a serious and grim story with lots of risk and struggle. The problem is the author just can’t do both which makes a lot of the story frustrating. At ch85 He rejects a girl he likes (while already openly planning a harem)because he is concerned they are to small and weak to follow him on his path. But then he also accepts a small weak girl from the SAME tavern. Bro has a system where anyone can level up but completely ignores it in this case. So many times logic and previous choices are ignored to make the plot happen. That and while the DanMachi section is supposed to be AU, the difference in some important characters is way off just to create enemies. Overall, it’s probably above average for fanfiction, but I just keep hitting big speed bumps along the way and got tired of continuing.
Doing that to Bell is pretty evil.
Dude could just not exchange that much? He has a system storage ffs.
Good intentions but poor delivery. I hated Scathach and Vahn. This looks to be the same.
Pairing Ciri and Saul is weird. Like I might just walk away here.
A little sad the author made v this way. Look forward to how things develop.
