Why does this whole dialogue seem like a theatrical play? The whole thing is unnecessarily exaggerated, we aren't an audience sitting far away from stage, having a hard time understanding the minute details, we don't need such exaggeration.

instead of that whole "I'm not going to wait, I'm going home and running" putting in plain "I'll just make a run for it" would've been much simpler and it would've flowed smoother too.

I like how the saying is marked, thus indicating that it'll probably be explained in the footnotes while the whole joke about family names up above was just left out there to confuse the readers,,,
