A substantial portion of Invincible's tragedies can be avoided by Mark not being Mark, thus being incapable of learning things any other way than the hardest way possible. Kirkman is an extreme believer in the suffering of an MC making the story better, so Mark almost always made the dumbest choices possible so he could suffer more consequences.

Agreed, when the deconstruction becomes the new trope it is time to revert and rediscover what was good in the first place.
You see it happen in two of the three games. They are all children twisted by fey magic. The difference seems to be that Hobbes have figured out how to do it without the need of fairies. They also now do necromancy.
I'm not hundy on it, but I'm thinking of making Rose like the Hero from Fable 3, meaning mid AF. The Fable 3 hero was unable to process Experience to gain power and unable to natively use Will. He was carried entirely by a magic armory created by the Fable 2 hero. My guess is the creation of that armory is why The Hero of Bower Lake died of old age. He didn't use his Will to extend his life like Theresa and Garth, and instead cemented his legacy by pouring all his Will into the creation of the armory.

Theresa used Lucian to rebuild the Spire thinking she could use its magic to remove evil from the world. She is arrogant.
Jorah bent the world over with just his knowledge and testicular fortitude. The final chapters were him reveling in a world that could do nothing to stop him and the finally confirms that nothing will ever change. Jorah will always be number one, he is the stallion that mounted the world, the ultimate dragon, the dark lord whose power reaches out across the map and makes everything conform to his will.
Yeah, that one finished weeks ago. It said so right in the final authors note.
