ENDORE
SONIA: MFL, slender petite body, short dark hair that matches her eyes, pale skin. Works at a book store and love reading books and romance novels. Was raised by her uncle. Have no idea about who her parents were and how they died. She dreams only of becoming a creative writer. She is fated to mate Ralph under the red moon just to make her uncle happy as being with a wealthy werewolf would give them a better life.
LUCAS: MML, He is the ruthless Lycan king, the most feared amongst the werewolves. He has a solid physique, tall with wide broad shoulders, hazel eyes, and dark hair. He acts at his own accord, has so many slaves and sees love as nothing but a fairytale.
RALPH: The alpha of Crimson pack. Possesses so much pride in being the only alpha in his tribe that is amongst the werewolf council due to his wealthiness. He wants Sonia as his mate as he claims to love her and they are fated. But he allows his pride and arrogance rule over his love which makes Sonia feel less about him every time.
ATHENE: Sonia’s uncle. Mid- Century-aged werewolf that escaped the blood moon war with just an eye. He lost almost everything and now works as a low wolf member in the werewolf council chambers.
TALA: Lucas’ step-mother and the Luna queen. The most powerful werewolf and oldest of them who has lived for centuries and fought many wars. She controls the affairs of Endore’s city through Lucas.
ARYA: Sonia’s colleague at the book store and confidant. She is half-blooded and the most ridiculed amongst their peers as she is termed as weak and half casted. She has a dream of leaving the city once she gathers enough funds.
JACK: Arya’s lover and Ralph’s beta.
BLURB
After being chosen by the Lycan King as he wins the duel, Sonia life takes a new turn. She is struck by yet another harsh reality that costs her a huge loss. On recovery, she discovers that all she had known wasn’t all that there was. There were indeed secret truth lurking in dark corners waiting to be found. Would her discovery lead to more bloodshed? Or would finding out the truth finally bring stability amongst the humans, halflings and werewolves in Endore?
Plot
Exposition
Sonia takes a day off at the bookstore and accompanies Athene to the Werewolf Council meeting after he woke up with a bad fever. She walks in with Athene as the meeting commences which spurs the anger and dissatisfaction from the other members of the meeting as Sonia’s presence wasn't needed. But Lucas intervenes and allows her to stay, helping her uncle serve them drink. He is somewhat attracted to her and Ralph notices this. Just after the meeting, Ralph makes an announcement informing everyone that Sonia was his mate and no one can have her, not even Lucas. Lucas feels disrespected and angry at his bruised ego and so to prove Ralph wrong, he sets a duel. Whoever wins would have Sonia. As much as it was wrong to have another’s mate, no one deemed to question his decisions and so Ralph agrees to it.
Sonia feeling disrespected and sad knows that she has no choice than to succumb to whatever decision. She talks to Athene about it but he can do nothing as well.
On the day of the duel, Ralph is defeated. A day is set for Sonia to be mated with Lucas but on the day, she rejects him and runs away seeking refuge in Arya’s cottage. Arya is scared as she doesn't want to draw attention to herself, only a few people knows that she is a halfling.
RISING ACTION
Lucas nurses his wounded pride and captures Athene in place of Sonia. She is forced to surrender and Lucas throws her into his dungeon. She stays there for a couple of weeks with little food that Arya managed to sneak in for her. After a while she notices that Arya had not visited for long. One day, a new prisoner is brought into the dungeon, and she discovers that it is Arya. She tells Sonia that Jack did not find it funny after he finds out that she was a halfling and to prove his loyalty to his Alpha, he betrayed her.
