Withering Heart : Bracing My Broken Pieces

As soon as a lady steps down from the car, she runs inside the hospital with her utmost speed. She even deserted her colleague, who gave her a ride in this emergency situation from an Event.

She didn't ask the receptionist for the room number or where the ICU is. Because she knows every section of this hospital and she directly reaches the elevator.

Seeing the elevator is still on the top floor, she mutters some curses and climbs the steps without a second thought.

The spectators who were watching her couldn't help stop for a second and notice her. Even though they are in hospital and there was nothing strange about this emergency situations, they still got shocked seeing the lady running in all her traditional silk saree and jewels.

'Did she run away from her marriage?! No! Surely not from her marriage! As her look is too simple for a marriage as a bride! May be she just ran away from someone else's marriage?'.

Yes. She came all the way from her colleague's marriage.

She hurries her pace looking at the stairs above her ignoring the weird glances from the people and cheers herself to climb the stairs. It's tiresome already.

'It's just 2 more floors!'.

Even though she is running in great hurry, her heart still keeps pacifying her with all positive thoughts and scenarios about this whole situation.

'Nothing bad would have happened! I just know he is fine and safe. Vinoth sounded worried when he called but not too sad enough to scare me! But these men don't take injuries seriously!'.

She reaches the fifth floor in few minutes and already lost all her energies. She gasps for the breaths and notices two policemen standing in front of a room.

She lets out deep breaths and walks weakly towards them. Seeing her approaching one of them nods at her with a smile.

She asks gulping her dry throat "How is he, Vinoth?".

Vinoth is a colleague and a good friend of whoever is getting treated in the ICU.

Vinoth hands her a bottle of water saying "A broken leg and a stab in shoulder-".

The lady sighs frustrated once she heard him and fumes "What does he think of himself?! We have this whole damn department to chase the criminals! Why is he doing this every single time?!".

She drinks the water and shakes her head still in anger.

'Seriously?! In ICU?! How serious it is this time?!'

Vinoth clears his throat awkwardly and says "We were close behind him but when he saw the main guy, he couldn't leave this chance and-".

The lady's complaining demeanour changed into a shocked one and asks "Did he catch the main guy?!".

Vinoth smiles with a smirk "Of course, he did!".

The lady rolls her eyes "Then I can't blame him enough this time".

Vinoth chuckles without speaking further.

'She worries for him yet doesn't stop him from doing this..even though everything he gets is a dangerous case. I wish my would be wife too understands me and be strong like her. She always breaks down even if she sees a scratch on my body..I just love how soft hearted she is. I can't look at her panicking face when she gets to know that I am after someone dangerous'-.

The lady asks breaking Vinoth's lovely trance "How long it will take? To see him?".

Vinoth answers "In few minutes. He will be shifted to a normal ward".

The lady argues "You could have informed me earlier. I could have been with him-".

Vinoth smiles helplessly "He insisted. To not bother you and also asked to inform you only after he gets out from the ICU. Logically, you have to thank me for informing you a little earlier".

The lady mutters irked "I swear.. I would have broken his every bones if he didn't catch the criminal!".

Vinoth couldn't help but wonder in surprise "Did he tell you about this case?".

'It is confidential! How can he discuss about this when she works for a media company?! He believes her to this level?!'

The lady sits on the visitor bench and nods thinking deeply "He did. And I can't believe he caught the main guy. After reading those files, I don't think he would be stupid enough to get caught. Do you think that was a coincidence?".

Vinoth too nods seriously "We too couldn't believe at first. But I can say...Your guy guessed this before. He predicted or got some information. Because he personally came there this time. He always stepped back from attacking. He somewhat knows more than us all the time".

The lady couldn't help blushing while Vinoth mentioned his friend as "Her guy".

She gets restless 'We didn't even acknowledged our relationship yet. So stop making me uncomfortable. He always flirts including words like marrying me and I rebuke..But never confessed each other about our feelings'.

Vinoth chuckles seeing her blushing and says grabbing his phone "Excuse me. I have to inform this to Commissioner of Police. I will be in a minute".

The lady nods tapping her foot impatiently.

The doors of the ICU room opens and a man was brought out in a stretcher.

The lady stands instantly and walks with the nurses towards the normal ward.

After the nurse left him in the sickroom, the lady stands near the man closely and gulps seeing the injuries he got this time.

'Oh boy! You can't walk for months! I am not lifting your huge body even if you beg! You are too huge to get help from me'.

She shakes her head frustrated "You are such a troublesome, Adhi!".

Aditya opens his eyes with a delightful smile plastered on his exhausted face and whispers weakly "Vedha...".

As soon as he looks at her from head to toe, he gasps and asks immediately "Will you marry me?".

Vedha gulps her fluttering heart and stares at his smiling face strictly "You broke your leg, Mister".
