Chapter 1: A Strange Woman

It was early fall, most leaves were still green and the temperature was just right. A cool crisp breeze surrounded me while the sun was falling down upon the top of my head, bringing out my natural red and blonde highlights. It was beautiful outside with the tall blood red maple trees and the forest green oaks showing off their details. I always looked forward to hoodie weather, I could leave my long brunette hair down instead of putting it up in a bun that irritates my head all day. I wore my favorite brown knee high boots with leggings and my favorite red hoodie.

"Hazel?!," I heard my husbands voice shout for me as I zoned back into reality. I walked back to the house, leaving the four-wheeler in our woods so I'd have an excuse to come back later. When I got closer to the house I saw Brad standing there with a woman beside him. "This should be interesting" I whispered to myself in a sarcastic tone as I approached my husband. This woman looked as if she was around our age, she was a tall blonde, dressed in a black skin tight dress as if she was looking for attention. The wrong type of attention in my opinion.

What could he possibly be up to that involves another woman? I kept searching my mind trying to give him the benefit of doubt again before he could tell me a lie about why this woman was here. Last time he had a woman around that wasn't family I ended up finding out he was cheating on me. "What's going on?" I asked with confusion on my face. "Honey are you forgetting what today is?" Brad asked as if he was hurt in a playful manner.

As I tried to recollect my thoughts and reply the vibe between us three had gotten a little awkward. Abruptly, my train of thought was scattered as a soft, but forward voice came from the woman beside Brad, exclaiming that today was our anniversary of three years together. "I'm your photographer for the day, Brad was so sweet enough to arrange today's plans for the two of you to celebrate the special day together, so I'll be tagging along getting photos of you guys as the day goes." I stood there in shock, Has it already been three years? And why was he all of a sudden romantic? If you can't tell, me and my husband have drifted different ways as time went on, so this was really out of the blue to me.
