It's been a week since Elijah has been avoiding me. He spends more time with Lorena and the squad. I, on the other hand, stopped chasing after him the moment he made it clear that he doesn't want to talk to me.
Meanwhile, I started spending more time with my father, he's really something. I get impressed even by his tiniest moves. He never made a move without thinking at least twice, unlike me. I always act then think after ruining things down.
We're more to spend time together lately. The thing that surprised me the most was that he knew every single detail about my life when I was human. He told me that he always had an eye on me, but he never dared to be with me since he did not want others to know about my existence until I'll be able to take care of myself. Somehow I believe that he's telling the truth.
He also started sharing with me stories from his life, but he never mentioned my mother. I even get intense whenever I mention her. I kind of understand him, it's hard to talk about the love of your life when you know that you can be with your love no more.
Though I want deeply to know about how he met my mother, but I'm fine with things I am getting now.
He told me once about how he ended up being a king, by confronting the old king 'Xavier the Second'.
I was really impressed. He told me that he lefts nothing for the luck since he planned for every and each of his moves. 'Xavier the Second' did not take him seriously and did not consider him a real threat, which was his downfall.
As for my father, he took the whole situation as an advantage of his side. He suggested that the battle should have a place in an open field, and as the battle started, he only kept dodging and exhausting the old king until the night was mostly over.
As the sun was rising up the old kind was left with only two options. Either to back off to hide himself from the burning sun, and to leave the new king ruling the kingdom that was once his, or to burn into ashes and die with dignity.
The old king picked the second option and decided to die with dignity, as for my father he used his gift- the shield as he was watching 'Xavier the Second' dying in front of his eyes.
This is how he became a king … The point is to never close an eye on a thread. As much as you're not taking it seriously you might get surprised by how serious it is, but only when it's too late to act or react.
Rather than staying with my father, I also spend time either training or reading, and since we're in war I have started working by day.
As you can see most of the vampires got weakened during the day, and not too many are gifted with a shield. As my father told vampires that can walk by day were less than thirty vampires in the whole kingdom, but now they're even less than before. Lycans made a list by their names and started killing them one by one until they became only twelve – excluding me, father, and Elijah.
Though the palace is hidden and secure by a spell, we can't close our eyes peacefully until the war is totally over.
As for today, I'm not feeling like doing any of these things. I just decided to spend the night laying on my bed, enjoying the fact of not doing anything- and waiting for the day to come with more duties toward my people.
My mind is hooked by the lady and her baby from my mom's memory. I can't figure out when I will see her, but I have to do it. I need to know who's the king's first son, only to figure out what will happen to Liam after when he will lose his throne and crown.
Lost in my thought I was till a specific scent stool my attention – Elijah. He was really here in my room. I looked at him and he smiled at me friendly. Was he really expecting that I would talk to him after that he was ignoring me the whole week … Not a chance in the hell!
I pulled the cover of the blanket over my head and closed my eyes waiting for him to leave, but he didn't. He kept standing there watching for about half an hour.
I couldn't stand him standing in front of me, so I pulled off the blanket then asked him ''what? Are you planning to live here? If so, I can leave instead of you…''
He looked at me seriously this time, he was no longer smiling with his warm beautiful smile. "I am here to apologize for my behavior the last time we talk, also for ignoring you the entire last week …"
I cut him off and finished instead of him "… and for wasting my precious time now!''
He repeated after me, which caused us both to end up laughing "… and for wasting your precious time now!''
I really was mad at him, but I don't know why – the moment he opened his mouth and started speaking, all the bad feelings I was holding toward him were gone. After all, I can't forget that he was always by my side when I needed him.
As we stopped laughing, I took the chance to ruin this cute moment by asking one of the questions lurking in my brain. "What was going into your mind when you started acting that way last time?"
I don't know why but the way he looked at me made me feel like I'm not going to like his answer.
'' you still don't get it? '' Why does he always like to answer my questions with other questions…
