Chapter 22: It only gets worse...{Rewritten}
I huddled in the corner of the cave, my eyes locked on the entrance, fists clenched so tightly that my knuckles turned white. The damp cold had seeped into my bones, each shiver a cruel reminder of just how fragile my body was.
My soaked clothes clung to my skin like layers of ice, and every breath felt like an uphill battle. The mist curling from my mouth was the only sign of warmth left, but even that seemed fleeting, swallowed by the frigid air. I was perilously close to freezing solid.
