Mother’s Quest

A year passed.

Over this time period, Layla's mother taught her about the manipulation of Aether, vampire etiquette, vampiric language, history, combat, and all sorts of things that a vampire princess should know.

Layla held onto her humanity by not drinking the blood of humans, which Camilla wasn't too upset about, since she loved that her daughter chose to drink her blood over humans.

Now to the present, Layla was in her bedroom, wearing a beautiful black dress as she sat on her bed, sitting next to Camilla, who was wearing a beautiful white dress.

"Mother, you said you wanted to speak with me?"

"I'm sending a small army of vampires to attack an underground city, and I want you to command the army."

"I'll do it." Layla didn't agree out of sincerity but out of her own ulterior motives.

"Good, I knew you would agree."

She puts Layla into her embrace, which Layla tries to pull herself out of, but her strength is still too much for her to resist, making her attempts futile.

"I still think you're cute when you try to resist me."

Layla blushed, still trying to pull herself out, even going so far as to cast shadow magic, so she could slip out of her embrace and escape her grasp.

"Not letting that happen." Camilla cancelled Layla's shadow magic, preventing her from using such means to escape.

A few minutes later,

Camilla eventually let Layla go as she teased her daughter enough and so Layla could leave to command the small army of vampires.

"The small army should be ready by now, so you can leave now."

"Okay." Layla stood up, followed by Camilla, as they went to where the small army was stationed.

Exiting the palace, there was the black forest that surrounded Camilla's palace that was filled with various types of demons who were once vampires.

If a vampire goes without blood for too long, not including the progenitors and their children, it will turn into a bloodthirsty demon, killing anything in sight for blood, no matter if it is a vampire or human, which vampires call the end.

"You should know by now that my daughter will be taking the commanding role in this attack, so follow her orders or else I'll kill you."

"Yes, my queen." The 500 or so vampires said it simultaneously, while bowing.

Camilla turned to Layla and hugged her, like how an overly loving mother would, saying, "Don't get hurt. If you do, I'll be there to save you."

"Mother, you don't have to worry. I'm immortal, so even if I get blown to pieces, I'll regenerate in seconds."

"I know, but still." Camilla pressed Layla's face against her breasts, which Layla found very unpleasant.

The vampires watching this scene smiled as they thought this was adorable, seeing Camilla, who was normally a merciless, cold progenitor vampire, being so protective and caring for her daughter.

Layla was able to push her face far enough away from Camilla's large smothering breasts to give her a chance to speak. "Mother, you're doing it in front of others, and I should be going."

Her face flushed with embarrassment before turning cold as she turned her head to face the onlookers. "If you say anything about this to anyone, I'll personally serve your head to the demons."

"Yes, my queen." They bowed again, this time in fear. Since Camilla said she would do so, it meant she actually would.

"Can I go now." Layla asked, gaining the focus of Camilla again.

"Fine, you can go now." Camilla let go of Layla, allowing her to leave her embrace and left the palace with the 500 vampires.

A few hours later.

The small army traveled through the forest, killing any demons in their way while their losses mysteriously began to grow, making some of the vampires worried.

"My lady, our losses are increasing. What should we do? We can't go on like this; otherwise, we'll all die before we reach the underground city."

'I think this should be a good spot to begin.' Layla thought and turned around to face the 300 vampires who were still remaining.
