Chapter 1

The shock of shock shot through him like lightning, causing his throat to suddenly go dry. An unpleasant pain shot through the back of his head and instantly overwhelmed him. His eyes were glued to his right hand, he remained motionless, looking in disbelief at the changed part of his body.

,,What the fuck is going on?"

After paying more attention to his own voice, he noticed that the timbre of his voice had also changed. The voice seemed more low and charismatic, completely unlike his previous voice.

However, it was his body that he now carefully examined with his eyes that evoked a mixture of emotions in him. It was deathly pale, an ash-gray white, and the hands were particularly terrifying and at the same time a hint of excitement. Their nails seemed more like claws than human fingers, reminiscent of comic book villains. However, for Krystian, who had previously considered the norm to be something completely different, it was surprising.

Krystian was dressed only in rather peculiar trousers, made of a material resembling the skin of some unknown animal. It looked as if someone had taken two rectangular pieces of leather, cut them out into the shape of trousers with a blunt knife, and then sewed the edges together with thick vegetable thread. Such a wardrobe reminded him of medieval Europe, although even then the trousers looked much better. The pants he was wearing now seemed to be the work of an amateur.

,,Fuck, I can see my ribs."

While examining his torso, although the view was limited, he noticed that his body was emaciated. Previously, even though he wasn't fat, the emaciation wasn't intense enough for him to see his ribs as clearly as he could now. It wasn't a very comforting sight; on the contrary, it only deepened the mixed feelings that now prevailed within him.

Finally, Krystian, slightly tired from the whole situation, touched his face and, as at first, he no longer felt as anxious as before. Because the shape of his face seemed to match his memories. After a while, panic returned with much greater force and, driven by curiosity and panic, Krystian began to look around his surroundings.

Krystian, slightly tired of the whole situation, touched his face and noticed that he no longer felt as anxious as before. The shape of his face seemed to match his memories. There was a fleeting moment of calm, because after a while, the panic returned with greater force, filling him with curiosity and fear. Because if the rest of his body had changed so unexpectedly, had his face changed as well. So, wanting to find something that would allow him to see the reflection of his face, Krystian began to look around his surroundings with determination.

,,This doesn't seem like a very friendly environment to me."

He was surrounded by dense forests, full of trees and quite strange plants of a more mystical nature. Like, for example, a rather peculiar fluorescent flower. A small mystical plant that grows from the moss under the trees appears as an extraordinary work of nature. Its delicate shoots seem to be covered with moss, immersed in the subtle light that emanates from their inner being. The entire plant radiates a slightly greenish glow that illuminates the surroundings like a green ray of light.

Its leaves, although small, are precisely profiled and decorate the plant like diamonds in a crown. They do not have the usual green color, but seem to pulsate with a soft light that brings to mind the aurora borealis at dusk. The flowers that sometimes appear on it are like small crystal bells that gently sway in the wind, vibrating like a melody in a quiet forest.

What makes this plant truly unique is its ability to glow in the dark. Even when the night covers the world with its darkness, this mystical plant continues its play of light, adding a touch of magical charm and mystery to the surroundings. It is a true masterpiece of nature, especially when in this forest, at the foot of almost all the trees surrounding it, you can see the above-mentioned flowers.

,,Very beautiful.... But where can I find... water... and fucking shelter, because it's probably not a park in a holiday resort."

Amid the mystical landscape of the fantasy forest, his nerves began to fade. The tangles of trees, covered with moss and shrouded in a misty veil, seemed to soothe his restless senses. Discovering the sudden changes in his body had made him anxious, but now, surrounded by this magical atmosphere, he felt he was regaining control of his emotions.

Even though he still wanted to see his reflection and understand what was happening to him, calming down allowed him to look at the situation from a more rational point of view. He wasn't as scared as before. Instead of panicking, he began to analyze the situation and look for a solution. And the awareness of potential dangers now not only filled him with fear of losing his life, but also seemed to give him the impetus to continue taking action.

The peace he managed to regain allowed Krystian to notice another change in his body and the way he perceived the world.

The most obvious aspect that he had ignored so far was the fact that he could clearly see the forest around him. It wasn't that he had poor eyesight before - on the contrary, his eyesight was very good, he never had to wear glasses. But now, after noticing the obviousness of being in the forest, late at night, with two moons in the sky, obscured by clouds, and twinkling, fluorescent flowers around the trees, he realized that something wasn't like before. Despite the lack of sufficient lighting, Krystian saw everything clearly, as if the darkness of the night had no effect on his vision. As he took a closer look at the fantastic, mystical plants surrounding him, he realized that his vision seemed inhuman.

Because even though the mentioned plants gave light, they did not provide enough light for him to be able to see the forest surrounding him.

,,Something has changed in me... and it's not just about my appearance. Fuck. I have Night Vision like some cat..."

After a moment, he realized that not only had his eyesight been inhumanly enhanced, but his sense of smell and all his other senses seemed to be equally enhanced. His hearing seemed extremely sharp - he heard the flapping of the wings of things in the sky, birds and things that reminded him of birds. He could even hear their breathing and even the beating of their little hearts. However, the most fascinating discovery he made while exploring new properties of his body was that he could control his hearing by directing it to specific sounds.

For example, trying to concentrate on these strange creatures, strange birds that were now resting on the branches in the treetops. Locating them was extremely easy for him - although perhaps it seemed more instinctive than deliberate. Krystian heard their breathing, heartbeats, and even the faint sound of their clawed legs scraping against the bark of a tree branch. The more he focused on the source of the sound, the more peculiar the palette of sounds seemed to become.

His sight also revealed a completely new ability to him. He was able to easily track and pinpoint the source of the sound, ignoring the small branches that covered part of the creature's body. He could get a good look at the creature, even though they were several meters apart.

The creature he observed was as if from some fantastic dream - a peculiar hybrid of an eagle and a bat that attracted attention with its unusual structure. The creature's torso, although shaped like a bat, was covered with thick, gray-yellow feathers, resembling the plumage of an eagle rather than fur. Those eagle feathers seemed to contrast disturbingly with the rest of the body.

The creature had impressive eagle-like claws that seemed too massive for its size. It's as if nature had decided to give it a weapon worthy of a mighty bird of prey. The wings seemed to be connected behind the creature's back, forming a cloak of sorts that extended between its talons. Their shape imitated the flight feathers, but they were far more refined and peculiar than any wings he had ever seen.

The creature's muzzle, although mostly resembling that of an eagle, also had small, delicate ears typical of bats. This unusual combination of features made the creature seem even more mysterious and fascinating.

Additionally, his sense of smell, focused on the creature in question, provided him with further rather disturbing information. Not only was Krystian able to smell the creature - the scent reminded him of really stale, old chicken eggs. But he thought he could tell what path the creature had taken before it landed on the branch he now saw it on. It was as if the remnants of this scent lingered in the air and the process of the scent disappearing seemed incredibly long.

The disturbing aspect was that through the smell, Krystian sensed something appetizing about this peculiar creature. Even though he found the creature's superficial scent repulsive, something about it evoked rather strange feelings. The mixture of hunger, aggression, and excitement that gradually increased as he got deeper into the strange scent made his heart beat faster.

The more he focused on the source of the tempting scent, mixed with the repulsive smell of old chicken eggs surrounding him, the more he understood what this creature wanted - the source of the most tempting sound and scent was the creature's heart.

When Krystian realized what point he was now looking at with the lust boiling in his eyes, he realized something that slightly terrified him.

,,Blood...I want it...fangs...fuck...I'm a fucking vampire...fuck...I have to control myself...because...fuck."

The hunger he felt now, and the desires and emotions evoked by the tempting scent, seemed to take away some of his self-control. He literally couldn't resist the urge to bite the creature and drink its blood.

Even though Krystian was struggling, his body seemed to be boiling with internal tension, and the more he tried, the thirst for blood seemed too overwhelming.

Eventually, his mental strength wasn't enough to stay in one place. Suddenly he moved towards the nearest tree and started climbing in a rather peculiar way.

From an observer's perspective, Krystian appeared to be climbing the tree as if he were in zero gravity, silently and delicately grabbing onto the tree and slightly pushing upwards to move his body. The way he moved seemed almost inhuman. The human eye could only see mist in the air, but at night, in the dark scenery, it seemed as if Krystian teleported every few meters, covering the distance along the tree trunk, then jumping above the tree canopy and with one hand grabbing the neck of a strange creature that did nothing. it didn't expect, resting on the edge of a tree. When a pale hand grabbed him by the neck, he landed on a thicker branch nearby, scaring away the other creatures.

The creature had no chance to even scratch Krystian's skin with its massive claws. When, less than a few seconds after landing on a branch in the treetops, it bit into the neck of the bat-eagle hybrid. And the unlucky animal lost the light in its eyes after a few seconds and became the meal of a new predator.

Until the last drop of blood was drained from the creature, Krystian seemed to be in a trance. He felt euphoria, an unbridled rush of satisfaction, bliss and pride. He couldn't quite take a second to analyze his own emotions, but it didn't change the fact that he enjoyed the meal.

However, when the blood in the creature ran out and he realized what he had just done, instead of the obvious shock and fear. When his eyes seemed to glow red, Krystian said to himself with satisfaction.

,,It was amazing...Hahahahahahaha...."
