Vampire Diaries 18: Marry Him

Gray helps me to lean to the wall. It is the best way to do, or we will be caught by the palace's guards.

Heavy breaths and serious faces.

That's the only thing we have right now.

"Huh! I'm sorry for dragging you to this mess."

Gray tells me while looking around the place.

However, instead of getting angry and blame him. I said, "Don't be sorry. Where in fact, I like running away especially from my father's palace."

"Father's palace? You mean, your father is a King?"

I almost tell him the truth but luckily, the guards saves me.

"Hey! Stop!"

They try to stop us but Gray hold and pull me out of the place.

"Hurry up, Thalia! They are the fastest vampires, that's why Jack sanctioned them to guard the entire palace."

Despite the fear, I let him drag myself.

The vampires run so fast that makes me stop and surrender. However, Gray will never agree with my opinion.

"Stop! Hey!"

They yells so loud but Gray pulls me closer to him. He is too determine to get out from the hallway and reach the wide and crowded hall.

Gray said, "Don't look back! They will manipulate their powers and hypnotise you."

Without asking him how, I nods my head and continues running.

Until we reach the very end of the hallway.

"Where are we? Why... why is it that there's no way out from here?"

I breaths heavily and asks him.

Gray did not look at me nor answer my question. He roams around the empty and quiet corridor with deep breaths.

"They have closed all of the doors. We are doomed now!"

"What?! But you are a grim reaper, you should do something!"

I tell him until my head hurts again. "Ahh, my head!"

I try to bear and hide the pain but he notices me. He walks like he is too worry and hurriedly check my head.

"It's bleeding! We need to treat your wound, as soon as possible!"

"But how can we do that? We can't get out from this quiet and oblivious place!"

I wanted to shout but I'm afraid that they might find us. I closes my eyes for a moment until I feels safe and exempt as he touched my forehead.

He is too close and an inch away from me. As if he is thinking to kiss me but...

I am speechless and stuck with my position, until I catch a glimpse of a man who's standing before the crowd.

"Jack,"

I called his name shortly as I see his face in the dark.

He narrow his eyes and I feel that he is wondering why I am with a man.

However, his gaze turns into my head and saw Gray's hand caressing my hair. "What would be the taste of a sweet and tender kiss, Thalia? As everyone here see the two of you, kissing and flirting with each other!"

"You don't understand!"

"I do understand! And why are you raising your voice on me?"

Jack asks me as he raise his left arm and closed his fist. It is a signal of a temporary break and dishonor.

"How dare you touch and kiss her?!"

"Listen to her first, she will going to tell you the truth."

Despite of the tension, Gray remains calm and steady. He seems like a Prince who will always unravel every circumstance that he may confront with.

I holds my breath when the Vampire King's allies appears from the dark.

They are showing their fangs even though it is just a simple misunderstanding. "Jack, why are they showing their fangs? Gray is innocent and we are about to go to the hall when an accident happens unexpect–"

"Don't try to protect him. Whether you like it or not, both of you will be punished!"

I don't get it.

Why would he do such thing without listening to my side? He needs to hear me before he give an order.

Because of anger, I walks towards him but Gray graps my arm. He looks at me and said, "You don't have to explain. Don't worry, everything will be fine."

"No!"

No one can stop me.

No on shall impede me or I will be beyond a beast's abilities who will fight with them bravely.

"Go to hell!"

I slaps him.

I did it.

And I will never regret, although all of the vampires saw it.

Jack licks and touches his bleeding lip. He chuckles silently and turns around to face the quiet crowd.

However, as he smiles widely. I feel so nervous and wants only to be vanished.

Gray looks at me with an inquiry. But he choose to stay quiet as Jack begins to continue with the important matter.

"Everyone, I am honour to presents to you my beloved wife– Thalia!"

"However, she betrays me despite of the loyalty that I have. But, I am desperate to marry the woman who will change me to be a good, and promising King of all vampires and Father of my children."

"What are you talking about? Your wife? In your dreams!"

I warns him but Jack grins at me.

He walks slowly, closer to me while looking intently into my eyes.

Jack pulls me closer to him but I am vulnerable enough to push him away. Gray struggles to escape from the palace's guards as they holds him so tight.

"Leave here alone!"

"Shut up!"

I feel so guilty and remorseful. But I need to help Gray.

The crowd growls and shout loudly. They are watching Jack who's closer enough to own me as I am only a thing to be possess of by someone like him.

Gray narrow his eyes and stares at Jack with wrath. He's breathing deeply and said, "She's not yours, Jack! We both know that Thalia will never marry you!"

"Bring him away from here! He's ruining my moment!"

"No! Release him Jack, please! I'm begging you!"

I touch his arm but he look away. The guard brings Gray and I know they will put him in prison.

Gray glances at me for the last time and smiled. "Don't worry about me, I'll handle myself. But, don't marry him Thalia."

It is a warning.

A truth, but how can I escape from this trouble?

Everyone hears it.

And the only thing they want is my sweetest yes.

"Tonight, we will celebrate one of the greatest happenings in my life! We will glorify the happiness that I feel at the moment!"

"Woah! You deserve him, Thalia! Marry the King!"

A loud, disturbing voice echoes around the place.

I look around to find it, and I saw my twin sister grinning at me from the corner.

She's with Bryce and with her friends.

From then, Valmer and Aloha appears from nowhere. They are both smiling widely at me.

Aloha said, "Marry him, Thalia! You have nowhere to escape."

I want to pull her hair but I choose not to. I need to be calm but suddenly I feel dizzy and...
