In life, there is no equality. This inequality stemmed from one fact, the strong preyed on the weak. It was the natural order of things.
Before the age of fifteen, Yanis had seen it all. He had been bullied by his peers since he was skinny and weak. His mother had been executed by the order of the village's leader just because she had treated the injuries of a dying person on Adoration Day. His father had been murdered by his best friend just so that he could take all the gold they had found in the forest whiles hunting.
At the age of fourteen, when Yanis' little sister was taken as a personal slave by a noble, he could do nothing but watch and no one was willing to help. That was the last straw.
He came to the conclusion that this world was a dog eat dog world and only with absolute power could he get everything he wanted and needed. Only with absolute power could he protect his loved ones. Only with absolute power could he control the life and death of himself and others.
In conclusion, only with absolute power could he make everything and everyone submit to him.
Thus he embarked on the journey of gaining power and absolute power at that. With the little talent he had, hard work, determination, suffering, endurance, schemes and betrayals, after about 200 years, he did it. He really did it. He had conquered all and ruled over all the world. He was the king of the world.
Yanis thought he had accomplished his goal until he realized that he had not. He controlled the world but that was only superficially. He was ultimately like everyone else. He would age, die and be forgotten. He refused to accept this. He used precious elixirs, fruits, spells and rituals to extend his lifespan and gain more power and time. He searched far and wide to find a way fulfill his wish of becoming absolute but to no avail. When all hope seemed lost and he was about to accept his fate, he found a little white book. From the book, he learned about a tower where any wish of his would be granted as long as you climb to the top. A place where people had god like powers. A place where people could live for thousands of years without a single sign of aging. His hope and determination was reignited. He was going to the tower by hook or crook.
Though such a place seemed out of a fantasy story. What hadn't he tried to become absolute? Yanis decided to trust the book, follow its instruction and get into the tower. After all, he had no other choice. That was his only hope. Even if he failed, he would die with a smile knowing that he had tried with all his might.
