The moonlight made the empty park look dim.

Lin Yi sat on a bench next to a flickering street lamp.

The park went from light to dark.

Lin Yi took a puff from a low quality cigarette.

"Phew~"

Lin Yi struggled to understand what was happening.

"So, I'm really in the Anime world of Tokyo Ghoul?"

Lost in thought, Lin Yi whispered to himself, not realizing the cigarette was almost burning his fingers.

Just an hour ago, he was sleeping at home when suddenly he ended up here.

His mind's system brought him here and gave him three beginner's packages and a strange mission.

The three packages were Body Enhancement, Fluent Japanese, and Identity Rationalize.

"Damn! Stupid System!"

The burning cigarette hurt Lin Yi's fingers, so he cursed and threw it away.

This system had put him in a world where Ghouls, creatures that eat people, were everywhere. Now he had no money and had to sleep on the streets.

All he had was half a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.

He wanted to stand up and give the old man the bench, but the old man refused.

"Rest, young man. You seem to be going through a hard time for someone your age. As an old man, I'm used to facing challenges too." The old man shook his head and put some newspapers on the ground.

Lin Yi couldn't sleep with the old man there, even though he couldn't sleep before.

"What about your family, old man?"

"They passed away from an illness a few years ago. I've been living alone since then," the old man told Lin Yi.

"Young man, it seems like you're going through a tough time. Don't lose hope. You're still young," the old man said, comforting Lin Yi as if he were his own son.

"Thank you, old man. Your words make me feel better."

Lin Yi couldn't tell the old man that he was brought to this world by a system, so he just thanked him.

"Gurgle~"

Lin Yi's stomach growled loudly. He smiled awkwardly, realizing that he hadn't eaten or drunk anything since arriving half a day ago.

"Hehe, you must be hungry. Take this and eat for now."

The old man rummaged in his pocket and gave Lin Yi a piece of stale bread.

The old man curled up on the newspapers.

A cold wind blew, and Lin Yi shivered. He lay back down on the bench, ready to sleep.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but the night became darker.

Gradually, Lin Yi's breathing calmed, showing that he had fallen asleep.

In the darkness, the old man lying on the newspapers suddenly opened his eyes. His face no longer looked kind, and a creepy smile appeared.

His eyes changed instantly, with the whites turning black and the eyeballs becoming bright red. The eerie red eyes glowed in the darkness.

"Hahaha, it's so tempting. I can't resist anymore—"

Before the old man could finish speaking, Lin Yi woke up. He opened his eyes and saw the scene in front of him. Although he was startled, he quickly regained his composure and punched the old man's right cheek.

The old man fell hard, spitting out black blood and looking uncertain.

"How is this possible?"

"Do you mean this?" Lin Yi sneered, spitting out the remaining crumbs of bread. At the same time, he showed the crushed bread crumbs in his hand.

"I haven't taken anything from strangers since kindergarten."

The old man was humiliated and furious. He glared at Lin Yi with bloodshot eyes, and his pupils became small as red blood vessels filled his eyes.
