Intro Chapter - Star of Tomorrow

-Oh, looks like you decided to show.-

A star-shaped portal with a bright multicolored border formed, and what seemed to be a young girl slowly stepped out. Parts of her black hair seemed to be floating along with her. Her attire would somewhat make one think she is of royal descent, wearing golden bracelets at her wrists and ankles.

-Welcome. You probably don't recognize anything yet. My name is Kami. I will play a part in telling this story.-

Kami began to stop floating in the air, her feet touching the entirely clear floor. The moment she made contact, the black void around her began to light up into a star-scattered morning sky, various rays of blue and purple spread out. The glow of a sunrise could be seen beyond the horizon, though no sun was there to show.

In her hands formed a black orb, reflecting the light of the surrounding stars.

-Perhaps I'll tell you a story. The story of light and darkness in their eternal struggle for dominance. I'm sure you've seen this before many times.-

After a few moments, she looked down into the orb, and in it formed the image of a glowing yellow field.

-The "light" of this world, mortals, seek what they consider the ultimate prize--a seat in the heavens. Dominance over the world. Godhood. The promise made by the "darkness."-

The yellow field that appeared in the orb then became dark. The glow vanished, the flowers withered away. Red pairs of eyes began to appear, silhouettes of distorted figures along with them.

-Is that what this eternal war is for? Is it really worth the divine punishment brought onto them, for choosing to challenge the superior gods of this world?-

Everything in the orb then vanished. A very light yellow light and a dark purple light began to glow within the orb, and a figure that resembled Kami formed in the image as well.

-There is power that balances light and dark. It isn't looked for, though appears to be realized within one's self, when one truly finds their desire in the world. Maybe then one will be able to escape the god's wrath that is to come.-

The orb then went black, and Kami faced up a bit.

-Maybe they are driven by the gods' promise to their blessing. Perhaps that is what brings mortals to challenge the gods. Though they will all suffer the same fate.-

-Is the throne in the heavens really reserved for them? Perhaps from the secrets left in the depths of the old world will they find the true answer.-

In the orb formed a field of glowing golden flowers, sparkling dust scattered around the air. The sky appeared to be during dawn, similar to the sky of Kami's location.

-Astrail.-

-A land governed by the gods, ones where the people have the power to wield the god's blessing to them.-

-Perhaps that's why it is such a chaotic world to be in.-

-These people are looked up to, though. Whether they are the ones who protect the people and use their power for good, or harm the people and leave them in despair.-

-Though with this power, this blessing from the gods...will they have the strength to challenge the ones above?-

-I guess you'll find out.-

A scene began to form within her orb. Two figures, a taller boy and a shorter girl, holding each other's hand as they stood atop a black obsidian platform. The space around them seemed extremely distorted, many colors moving along the rips in the space.

"Are you ready?" The boy spoke, still facing forward.

"Yes. Ready." The girl responded much quieter, squeezing on his hand tighter.

A star-shaped portal formed in front of them from nothing. A woman dressed in purple and gold attire slowly came out, staring down the two before her.

"You're here again. This is your final warning." She seemed to have already known of their presence. Her hand slowly rose in the air as portals formed above the woman, directed toward the platform.

"We can't let you stop us this time." The boy spoke up, a black blade forming in his hand. He gripped the blade tight, ready for combat.

"As the divine creator of this realm, I cannot stand to allow what you are doing."

"Too much to lose." The girl spoke as well, a golden blade forming within her hand at the same time.

"...very well then. I'd hate for it to have to end this way." She turned away as each of the several portals above began to glow. A wide beam of light was shot from each of them, all directed to the platform. The platform was immediately destroyed by the lightspeed beams, not leaving a single trace.

"Now come at me." The woman looked up at the two now in the air. The boy now had a pair of black wings, while the girl had feathery white ones.

The two charged at her, their blades glowing as they both made an attempt to slash the "god". Her hands were already up, blocking each of their blades and keeping them in place as the two pushed on. The shockwave from the attack shook the entire area, ripping parts of space around them.

"Careful now, there won't be anything left!" She pushed the two away, sending them back as the portals above her began to glow again. They fired, though at different times instead of all at once like before.

The boy and girl both showed no effort in dodging the beams, on their way back toward the woman. The boy's sword started to glow a bright red, while the girl's blade began glowing a bright gold.

"You both are so foolish."

-He's such a unique person. Even against what he knows to be the most powerful being in the universe, he isn't afraid. He won't let the god's threat bring him down. After all...-

-...how can you let those things stop you if you want to be the strongest?-
