The Birth of Eve [2]

I looked at her and she was shocked, she stepped back and trembled when she took her dagger, "Wait, don't kill me please!" I shouted at her while raising my hands up

"What are you…." She put her weapon down, and looked at her right, I panted and she sighed, "Tell me your problem" she put her weapon on her boots

"I-I can still remember your name, but, it's gradually fading time over time…" I sat on the ground and touched my head, "Can you still remember what happened yesterday?" she crouched over me, "Yes I still can." I replied

"Can you still remember the things that had been taught to you?" she asked once again, "Yes" I replied while nodding, "Your name?" she stood up and brushed off the dirt on her coat

"My name….is Eve" I replied while standing up

I laid out a big sigh and as I looked at Scarlet, she stood there frozen, "What's wrong?" I asked while I attempted to step closer but she stepped back

"It's nothing" she shrugged and pulled me outside the building, "WHa--?!"

She stopped and looked at me, we were both silent as we looked at each other

"Umm..." I tried to speak as I took my wrist from her hand, she closed her hand in return

"Sorry about that, we need to get going" she turned back and walked towards the narrow path, I followed her from behind

She climbed on the wall and raised her hand for me to climb, I looked at her and gripped her hand as I struggle to climb, finally, I managed to climb on the roof with Scarlet sitting on my side

"This is very surprising" she put her chin on her hand

"Huh, what is?" I looked at her as I catch my breath

"Nothing" she stood up, I could tell that she was smiling on the inside of her mask

"Uhhh, okay?"

She walked over the roofs and headed to the Giere stationary, (What is she going to do?) she stopped for a moment and drifted back to me

"I am going to help you gain information about the guy your looking for, but, you need to quit the organization...."

?!!

(Seems to be a good choice if I would agree but, the probability of gaining information about that guy is only 2 percent....)

"I believe we need to discuss this later at the cabin, and it's a bit early to leave you guys like this, there's only three of us" I tried to convince Scarlet as she stood there

"No."

("No"? What is she saying?)

"The deathbringers are far more than three of us, only three of us assassins are in this country, but to others....well.....they are far more powerful than Hollow" Scarlet sighed and hopped down towards the dark alley, I followed her from behind

"Hey where are we going?" I looked around as we head into the road farther and farther

Suddenly, I could feel a light touch on my right shoulder, I looked behind and no one was there, I quickly ran towards Scarlet as she stopped on the hallway

"What is this place?" I looked around

Darkness was lurking around us, no light, no power

"They're here" Scarlet murmured silently

"Who?"

The walls and the ground began to shake, eyes were appearing within it--constantly looking at us, we walked silently towards the end of the hallway which is a door

The tacking of our boots echoed around the dark sealed hall, the eyes never took their look on us, we stopped in front of the door, waiting for an aftershock

(I bet we can't talk now, she's been awfully silent 12 minutes ago...)

She raised her arms in order to open the door, slowly and slowly, we could feel the glaze of the eyes surrounding us, creating a heavy pressure

Scarlet stopped moving her hands, I could tell that she was trembling in fear, I patted her from behind and quickly looked back at me

"!!!"

Suddenly, a giant hand beneath us folds it's fingers hoping to crush us, Scarlet pushed me and hopped away from it

"You idiot!" Scarlet said those to me madly

I looked to the side and the walls began to deform, giant hands reached within us as we stepped back

"This isn't good" Scarlet hurled over the hands and sliced it open, blood squirt and spilled as she swung her dagger

"What did I do wrong?" I asked as we ran towards the exit

"Save your breath. This will get rough" she inhaled and cast a wind spell, as she held her left hand up high, wind began to swirl in the hallway

(Why'd she do that?! She should've used the fire element)

The walls stacked together forming an eerie figure of flesh mixed all in one, the hallway began to smell rotten, I covered the bottom part of my face with my forearm

She headed towards the enemy and released an immense amount of soul energy unto her arms, she held her dagger up high and jumped down to the fleshes

The wind that Scarlet castes earlier pushed the smell of rotten flesh outside the hallway.

The flesh of the hand stomped on the ground, which it caused to break open

The walls formed into a mouth, attempting to eat us alive. Scarlet huffed and sliced the giant ball of flesh in front us. The walls are gradually getting closer.

I casted a fire spell with my right hand pointing at the layers of flesh. I released my soul energy unto my hand creating heaviness unto my forearm.

BLAZE

The fire burned across the hall and destroyed most of the fleshes.

Scarlet gripped her left arm and sighed

"Are you okay?" I looked at her and she nodded

She sat down and exhaled, "I'll gather soul energy all the places and I'll fire a strong current of demolition here." I nodded

I took out two of my dagger, to my left and right, I raised them in front of me

(No, I can finish this myself.)

I controlled my breathing and dashed towards the walls of flesh, due to my speed, it created an immense current towards me, locking my target and my arms together

I swirled across the hall with my dagger on, lacking soul energy, I used my agility from zero to max

I released my arms and sliced them all at once, blood squirted from the flesh, spilling gallons of blood, HOWEVER, fleshes that were sliced and dropped on the floor came floating back towards the giant ball of flesh

"I knew it." I smiled in amusement

(Last 11 minutes ago, I knew that the walls and floor were all controlled by one person; if we sliced all those fleshes many times it will not end, unless the person controlling it would release the spell or if the person is dead.)

(Scarlet must be detecting that person right now by using meditation.)

"Tch."

I hopped backwards and the flesh came bigger and bigger

(I have already used most of my stamina and my fatigue is building up)

I narrowed my eyes and huffed all my breath in and out. I raised my arms once again, locking my target. "Let's have fun!"

I dashed towards it once again and released some of my soul energy unto my blade, swinging my arms up and down, left and right, blood splished and splashed on the hallway

I approached the object once again and attempted to kick it, the object didn't flinch and pulled my leg, then threw me away

(Ah. It won't work huh.....)

The flesh jumped towards me but I rolled away, I knelt up and took my dagger.

I clenched my hands and let it all out. "You won't know if you won't try" I smiled in awe

The soul society is the dimension that only your soul can get across from the human realm, but what you will see on the soul society is the inside of your soul as well, it also engages the fear of your soul which are randomly strong or weak. Passing across the soul society is a dangerous journey, if your soul is not strong enough to handle the basic traps and lies about your human mind.

However, your human body doesn't survive if you didn't manage to go back from the soul society, time works slower on the soul society, so that means if you still stayed in the soul society, your body will slowly deform.]}

(Heh. All the things I have read have payed off huh? Deforming my body will be the same as this thing.)

"I guess it's time"

The flesh in my right arm deformed into an object I wanted it to be: a sword.

I dashed towards the the object and sliced it up, it countered with a wham, the bricks of the walls was destroyed, I smiled in return

(Everything is going according to plan.)

I released the deforming activity on my right hand, and took my dagger

(Shadow! It's time!) I raised my arms and set my footing right

<Let's do this!>

The soul energy from Shadow hurled unto my body, creating an unbalanced soul energy, I dashed towards the object and swung my arms with all my might, it was destroyed horribly, then I jumped up outside

"Found you."

The guy controlling the walls of flesh was right at the tower nearby, I landed unto it with an incredible impact, the tower broke in half and he was unable to escape due to the stones locking him

"Ho. You aren't bad at all..." he said those words before he kicked me on the chin

"...but, you lack physical attributes at all." he smiled at me and stood there, "This game's done--" right after he was about to say anything, Scarlet dashed towards him and pointed her dagger to his throat

"You can ease yourself right now, Scarlet"

She stomped and sighed

"I have taken a liking to this man, so don't be hateful of me right now."

"He belongs to us!"

"Yeah right, the 12th deathbringers? PFFT. Your leader is evil as the devil."

Scarlet looked at him with silence

"Well, I guess we should go inside, shall we?" he escorted us towards his secret base against the city

I looked at Scarlet but she just stood there silently, his men shoved us in gently. We sat on the couch in front of his desk

(He's showing hospitality, well I guess he doesn't intend on attacking us though...)

"Welcome to the 8th department of deathbringers, I am the leader/captain, Kageyama Shishio, pleased to meet you" he smiled at us while handing the tea

(That's a weird name)

"I apologize about earlier, I may have underestimated you but please accept my sincerity" he bowed at us then sat on his chair facing at the window

"As you can see, the deathbringers isn't just some sorts of assassination things like a player's ground, it's an arena for people like me and you--I'm sorry what's your name again?"

"Uhhh....call me Eve."

"I see, Eve. Well I have lots of things I wanted to do with you, would you like to accept my contract for you to transfer in this department?" he snapped his fingers then a file appeared on the table before me

I looked at Scarlet but she didn't do anything. (Seems sketchy but...)

"I would if you would grant me my wish"

"Ho? Name it, I will grant it"

"Give me information about the guy named [Adam] who is also a member of the deathbringers"

"I don't know such guy." he replied

"What?! State the truth!"

"I am. I know mostly everyone in my department." he replied while sipping his tea

I trembled in frustration, holding my head

(Ah. How will this end??)

"But I would help you find him." he smiled and stood up from the chair and puts the cup on the table near the window

After hearing his words Scarlet stood up angrily

"Well hold up." he raised his hands and pointed his two fingers at her, "I told you, I don't intend to harm you here, so sit down and listen to what I say"

Scarlet hesitated for a moment then sat down

"Thank you. Well then, Eve, will you accept my contract?" he smiled at me

I narrowed my eyes and tried to speak

"I....I--"

Someone banged the door open, he was tall and muscular, he took off his glasses and blew his cigarette, "Don't start it without me. Fooh"

"Andre, this is my turf, how could you barge in like tha--"

"Eve, I heard that he wants you to transfer here on the 8th department." his voice was very deep and he took the cigarette out from his mouth and waits for my response

"Uhh, yes." I bowed slightly to show some kind of respect

"Don't bother, I'm not like Kageyama, I treat people equally" he stood up and put his coat on the stand nearby, Kageyama stood quietly while smiling

"I am actually here to discuss something about your captain, Hollow" he looked back at us and blew his cigarette then threw it away

"Yes, feel free to ask me anything" I sat up formally

"Well, how about you, Scarlet?" he drifted back at her and awaits for her response

"..." she was silent

"Um, I would like to ask" I raised my arm and he nodded

"Why do you guys don't wear masks unlike us?" they both looked at each other and he took another cigarette

"We mostly do our jobs using only soul energy, and not physical damage" Kageyama replied while smiling

(Oh, just like earlier.....he used his soul energy to control the fleshes far away from it.)

"Eve, let's talk somewhere" he put his cigarette on the table then stood up and wore his coat, "Let's talk outside" he brushed off the dirt from his coat and opens the door

I followed him from behind and looked at Scarlet, "I'll come back after this"

Walking towards the entrance and to the pavements, both of us were oddly quiet

"It's weird isn't it?"

"Beg your pardon?"

"Hollow used to be the world's greatest assassin, he killed many people and doesn't leave any traces behind, not long after he found Scarlet..."

"Why would Scarlet be a part of this?"

"...Scarlet was found by Hollow when she was around 4 years old, he took care of her like his real daughter. That also affected Hollow's reputation on being the greatest assassin, and now...he is nowhere to be found."

He looked back at me like he was about to ask me something, "It's a bit impolite to say this but, please don't let Scarlet look for Hollow on herself" he took out a cigarette and lights it up

"She isn't alone sir, I am currently helping her and she is also helping me"

"I see. Then there's no more problem, also..." he walked a few meters away from me an looked back, "...beware of the other deathbringers. Until we meet again." he walked out of the 8th department base and bid farewell

(Hollow is really mysterious, he was kind and powerful to me...while the others treat him like an enemy.)

*****At the realm were two souls collide*****

`Nice to meet you, Shadow was it?` he raised his hands and attempted to shake hands with the creature

<I do not intend to be friends with you. Tell me what you want from Adam?!> Shadow shouted as he stood up and furiously looked at the ~other one~

`Ahahaha, please don't be silly. I do not want anything from Adam, in fact.....I AM ALREADY HIM.`

Shadow widened his eyes and dashed towards him, he punched the other one's face and then dodged

<Fight, or I'll let you leave his body.>

HE smiled and wiped off the blood from his nose

`Good.`
