The Treasure She Never Asked For

Lulu had been in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years. At the peak of her career, she received an endorsement deal that was difficult to refuse. On the product launching party, she was handed a "prototype" of the final product but because of a bad accident that happened during the party, she woke up in Marcel's body, 300+ years into the past. Just in time to change the direction of the future, he would have chosen for himself. What will happen when the queen of the entertainment industry in the 24th century is taken back in time to the 21st century as a man? "I'll give him a call," Sherry said and went to the other side of the dance studio to make a call leaving Marcel with her manager.

"I'll have to submit this to the president," the manager said as he was collecting the papers they had laid out on the table and the copy of the contract that Marcel had just signed.

"You're going now?" Marcel asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, do you have your portfolio with you," the manager asked. Marcel only shook his head in response.

"I'll go to the reception desk to ask for it, that was where you left it right?" the manager asked.

"Yes," Marcel replied with a smile and watched as the manager walked out of the studio. Soon after Sherry went to sit next to him after she was done with the call.

"Are they coming?" Marcel asked expectantly.

"Yes, fortunately, they are available today" Sherry replied with a smile and looked at Marcel. Marcel smiled back making him seem even more handsome than before. He combed the hair that fell over his eyes away from his face with his fingers.

"Are you in the industry?" Sherry asked in an attempt to fill the silence.

"Not yet, I'm trying my hand at modelling" Marcel replied.

"Oh, with your looks and proportions you will definitely succeed," Sherry said in an attempt to encourage Marcel making him smile.

"How is your acting?" Marcel asked suddenly.

"Don't worry too much. Since this is just a music video, it does not need to be too high level" Sherry comforted.

"Oh," he replied.

"I'll give you the complete script after practice. Fortunately, we are only going to have one scenario where we need to actually learn how to dance" Sherry continued. She seemed very relaxed and if her other group members had seen how she was harmoniously interacting with Marcel they would all have been surprised.

Not long after, a short knock was heard and a man and a woman walked into the dance studio. The two of them stood up from their seats and greeted them and made some small talk before they started their practice.

"You can call me Ben," the male instructor said as he introduced himself.

"Just call me Rain," the female instructor said with a wide smile. She was slim and on the short side with her round eyes and a pixie cut on her hair, she could be described as adorable.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both" Marcel said with a smile and shook both their hands.

"Likewise, do you have any history of dancing?" Ben asked curiously.

Honestly, he did but it would be difficult to explain if he said that he only knew a few dances and even those in a female role so he could only say he had no dancing experience at all.

"That would mean more work, the dance for this music video will be more contemporary," Ben said as he went to hold Rain's hand and pulling her to the centre of the dance studio.

He then proceeded to demonstrate the dance routine for the whole song. Marcel was both captivated and concerned as he thought that at most it would be a minute long dance and not a dance that was choreographed for the entire song.

He watched as the instructors embraced each other and at some points, their faces were so close to each other it looked like they would kiss. The atmosphere had completely changed with their dancing, and since the song itself was very suggestive, the dance routine was also very suggestive making Marcel's ears turn red from embarrassment even though he tried to keep a straight face.

As he continued to watch, he saw that Rain was the one that performed most of the complex moves that required a lot of flexibility compared to Ben who seemed to be a bit more relaxed. It showed that the choreography was designed to show Sherry's talent as a dancer so most of the moves were focussed on her.

At the end of the routine, Rain was kneeling over Ben with their faces close to each other as they breathed heavily. Marcel unconsciously clapped for the pair since he was so impressed by their dancing.

"As you can tell, you will be working with both of us interchangeably so you two can master the choreography while developing the necessary chemistry to turn it into something worth watching," Ben said and the two of them nodded in response.

They then each followed an instructor to learn the choreography. Marcel worked with Ben and Rain worked with Sherry. Sherry was a good dancer and had already started learning the choreography so she was not having a very hard time. Marcel, on the other hand, had zero experience with contemporary dancing and felt like giving up.

"You need to create flow with your movements, don't be so stiff" Ben instructed patiently as he watched the transition between the moves that Marcel was making. He had to admit that he was good at memorising but he was a bit stiff, although it was not hard to rectify that it was slightly frustrating for Ben.

Marcel repeated the first segment of the moves he had been taught for the nth time until Ben smiled with approval and clapped.

"Now that you know the moves, you have to synchronise them with Sherry's dancing.

"Should we switch?" Rain asked as if she was looking forward to working with Marcel.

"Let's switch," Ben said and walked to the other side of the dance studio where Sherry was practising with Rain as they switched partners.

The practice lasted for hours and when it was almost 6 pm, Sherry's manager walked into the dance studio to stop the session. As everyone was packing up their things, Marcel was already walking out of the door since he did not bring in anything as it was an impromptu practice session.

"Mr Melar, the president wants to see you," the manager said after he stopped Marcel from leaving making him raise his eyebrows in question.

"The president?" Marcel asked to make sure he had not heard wrong.

"Yes," the manager replied before turning around and leading the way.
