[Chapter 1] Veiled Reminiscences

Over the last three years, Arsh had been shrouded in confusion and a sense of familiarity. He had gained an understanding of the language spoken, the writings, the locations within the mansion, the names of people he crossed paths with, and even some of the animals names he encountered, along with the names of the dishes served to him. All of this knowledge gradually resurfaced whenever Arsh interacted with or felt nostalgia for something.

However, he kept this information secret from others.

One night, in his room, Arsh contemplated the strange experiences he'd been having. Suddenly, a whisper echoed in his mind, calling him to go to the underground library. Arsh felt fear and disbelief, and he clutching his head with both hands. He tried to ignore it and go to sleep, eventually managing to drift off into a dream. In this dream, he found himself among a gathering of people with pallid and faded faces. Arsh couldn't speak, but these figures urged him to seek something, but Arsh still has no clue about it.

In an instant, Arsh's perspective shifted to a scene of a destroyed castle engulfed in flames. He was lying there, witnessing the devastation. Then, he abruptly woke up and found his two elder sisters, Elara and Seraphina, engaged in a heated argument. Elara had woken him up, causing Seraphina's anger, who believed they shouldn't disturb Arsh. Elara chuckled and pointed at Arsh, leaving Seraphina in shock and embarrassment.

"KYAAAK!" Seraphina exclaimed as Arsh had apparently peed on the bed.

A timelapse followed, during which Arsh observed his eldest brother Valerius practicing swordsmanship with their father, Duke Argent. He recognized the techniques and familiarized himself with other various rooms in the Duke's residence. He even managed to startle his parents when he could read fluently.

A year passed by.

One day, in the garden of the Argent family residence, Elara approached Arsh, who was holding a book with enthusiasm. She recommended the book to him and asked him to read it. Arsh gladly accepted and started reading from the first paragraph. To his amazement, he felt a sense of familiarity with the book and instantly knew the story and information it contained.

*w/n

(This was the first book Arsh had read before his regression, and it laid the foundation of a bookworm trait in his previous life).

Arsh effortlessly provided a brief summary of the book to Elara

"This book is about an inventor and how he achieved economic sovereignty and independence... This book is very interesting, Sis" Arsh said, smiling.

Elara was shocked and proud of her younger brother because she thought Arsh had read the book and understood its content.

"Whaa, you're amazing. I don't think you'd be interested in something like this," Elara said with a small laugh.

However, Arsh was confused about how he had this prior knowledge.

"Strange, it feels like I've read this book before," Arsh thought.

"Alright, let's head to the family library. We'll search for the treasures of interesting writings!" Elara exclaimed, pulling Arsh by the arm.

*Arsh getting dragged*

Arsh then recalled the earlier whisper in his mind, urging him to visit the underground library. He stopped, he suddenly felt frightened. Elara noticed his distress and asked if everything was okay.

"Arsh, is everything alright?" she inquired.

Arsh's trembling arm was held by Elara as she tried to reassure him.

"Arsh, don't worry, it's not a scary place to go. It's peaceful there, and there's a wealth of knowledge to be found."

Arsh nodded, accepting his sister's comfort.

Upon reaching the entrance of the family library, Arsh's heart raced, and doubt clouded his mind. With a soft smile, Elara invited him inside. She gently opened the library's door, and Arsh instinctively shut his eyes. Then, he heard a soft voice.

"You can open your eyes now, Arsh" Elara said.

Arsh slowly opened his eyes, and he was immediately captivated by the sight of the library. It felt as though he had been there for a very long time and was entirely at ease in the surroundings. Elara, noticing her brother's reaction, she then felt reassured.

Arsh selected a book from one of the library shelves, and Elara encouraged him to pick any book that caught his interest. She also informed him that he could visit the library whenever he felt bored and that she would be reading some books nearby.

"You can pick any book that interests you, Arsh. Oh, and you can always come here if you're bored. I'll read some books and sit over there. Just let me or the maids know if you need anything." Said Elara.

Arsh thanked her

"Alright, thank you, sis" Arsh reply his sister.

Arsh began to read the book he had chosen. To his amazement, he understood and absorbed the information from the book with exceptional speed and detail, as if he had read it before. This discovery thrilled Arsh, as he had gained knowledge effortlessly.
