" Chichi ! Haha ! Look ! What is this ?" A girl no older than 3 years old exclaimed excitedly to her parents while showing her pinky finger.
A red string was seen at the girl's finger . It was the string of fate . However, the girl's red string was disconnected but it was still moving , means that her soulmate is still alive .
The girl's mother looked back at her daughter's direction . She was wearing a simple purple kimono and her hair was tied up in a low bun . She looked at her daughter's finger and saw the disconnected red string .
" Anata , look at Kae chan's finger. " The mother called to her husband worriedly .
Her husband who was chopping wood , looked at their daughter . He walked to them and crouched down to his daughter's height and patted her head.
Her parents made eye contact with each other and they nodded their heads as if they had a conversation.
" Kae , that red string on your finger was called , the string of fate . The other end of the string was connected to your soulmate's finger." Her mother spoke .
The girl looked at her parents, confused .
" Oh , is this the string that Chichi and Haha have on their finger ?" The girl asked her parents.
" Yes dear . Me and your father are soulmate. " Her mother answered while smiling .
" Then why is my string disconnected? Chichi and Haha's red string are not disconnected " The little girl asked.
" Anata , do you know why is Kae chan's red string was cut off ? " The mother asked while looking at her husband.
" My grandfather said that when a person's red string was cut off, it means that your soulmate is ..... You know ..... Dead" the girl's father coughed while saying the last word .
" But it's still moving Anata . " The girl's mother said pointing at their daughter's finger.
" Well , myths say that there is a girl with a cut off red string. They said that her soulmate is in another world. " The girl's father said whole putting a hand on his chin in a thinking pose .
" So , Chichi is saying that , Kae's soulmate is in another world? Then I can't see him ??!! The girl asked her father while tears brimmed at the corner of her eyes .
" Yes , that would be possible Kae ." The girl's father said while sighing.
" Why is that ?! " The girl asked while crying.
" We don't know too honey. But I know that there is a reason why your soulmate lives in other world." The girl's mother said soothingly, trying to comfort her daughter
" Oh .... Okay . Then , can I and my soulmate meet ?" The girl asked finally calmed down . She then wiped her tears .
" Of course! You and your soulmate is destined to be together after all! We are sure your going to meet him someday!" The girl's parents said at the same time while giving their daughter a bright smile .
The girl smiled back at her parents . She looked at her finger and smiled .
She and her family shared a happy and peaceful dinner.

" Mom , mom ! Look at this ." A young boy with half white and half red hair ran to his mother showing his finger with a disconnected red string.
His mother looked at her son's worried face to his finger . She saw the red string and raised an eyebrow when she saw that it was cutt off .
The boy's mother thought for a moment then , she smiled at her son .
" Shoto , come here . " Rei , the mother of the boy spoke with a soft voice.
The boy who was named Shoto , walked to his mother with teary and worried face.
" Mom ... Isn't this the red string of fate that the other people say ? " Shoto asked his mother .
" Yes , it is my dear . " Rei answered her son's question while running her hands to Shoto's hair .
" Why is mine disconnected ? " Shoto asked wondering why his red string of fate was not like the others .
" Hmm , I've read a book about soulmate. They said that when your string was disconnected and still moving, that means your soulmate is alive but they live in another world. " Rei answered Shoto.
" Then how do I and my soulmate meet then ?" Shoto asked confused.
" I don't know too , Shoto . But destiny will find a way for you to meet her someday . You just have to wait for the right time." Rei said reassuringly to her son .
" I see ... " Shoto muttered to himself while looking at his mother . He then gave her a big and bright smile .
" Ok Mom , I'll wait for her then !" The four year old Shoto exclaimed determined.
Rei then laughed at her son's antics then proceeded to do what she was doing earlier .
Shoto ran off to the kitchen and went to his room.
