Synopsis

Madeline Colter despises her country, Grandor, home to the most conservative and racist people to exist, the only country to reject people of other species while having a half-vampire prince. But when the prince comes of age and every woman in the country is forced to participate in a competition for the position of queen, Madeline is dragged into it. She expected to be failed immediately, not that she'd meet with the so-called feared prince and realize they may not be so different after all. Alexei, known as the fearful war monger prince, feels little affection for anyone. Ostracised among nobility with his only protector now dead he has to pick a queen to ascend the throne. What he hadn't expected was to meet a girl that would make him realize how touch-starved he truly was. —————————- I stared at the people below me, all their faces enamoured with awe as they beheld me. I was a commoner moments before, but here I sat- a crown atop my head. I felt his fingers squeeze my hand and tried to stop my flinch. His red eyes boring into the side of my face. I knew he was grinning from ear to ear. I knew he had set all this up for me. Not to show me. But… to warn me. Thousands of eyes leered at me and I knew what was to come would be much worse than what had already happened. “Long Live the King and his Queen!” The chants began and I could feel a prickle in the corner of my eyes. “Do not cry”. His cold words were warmer than the finger that brushed my eyelid. My eye stilled and slid toward him. “This is all yours now. Just as much as it is mine. A country in the hands of those who hate it. Let’s ruin it all”. The fire burning in those eyes shook my core. “Long… live the king” I said slowly and deliberately, watching his smile stretch further. “Long live the queen”. ———————- I looked at the massacre around us. There was blood everywhere… why didn't he care for that? "Why do you want mine?" I asked curiously, face turning pink when he lifted his intoxicated eyes towards me and his face was flushed, lips panting. It sent a strange thrill through me to see a man of such power on his knees, practically begging. "I want all of you. Everything" he laid a kiss on my skin, breathing in the scent. Warning: slow- burn R18

Chapter 1Chapter 1

"You can't be serious", I scoffed to myself as I stared at the letter that was left for me on the table. The royal red seal with specks of golden foil had been torn open and the contents of the letter laid bare before me.

"Do not make that expression young lady! You should be overjoyed to be receiving such a privilege", my aunt Elizabeth straightened my letter while giving me a stern look. Her greying blonde hair in a tight bun which seemed to pull the skin around her eyes back.

"There's no need for me to participate" I wanted to grovel on the floor in despair. "I'm barely a lady".

My cousin Randall laughed, clearly unaware of the severity of my circumstances, but I didn't expect him to understand.

"Well, at least smile about it when your cousin arrives. She was so thrilled about attending with you" Aunt Elizabeth proudly held an identical letter addressed to Crystal, her daughter.

I wish I could say I felt the same…

To explain what had happened would mean for you to understand a small bit of history. Not something heroic about war, okay maybe a bit about war, but nothing interesting at all.

This all started exactly twenty three years ago three days after spring had begun.

The country that I reside in is directly adjacent to an Empire more than thrice it's size. It was no question that if the Empire were to find fault with our country we would be done for.

But regardless of the risks of war, civilians of Grandor, my country, held rather conservative views in regards to the Harmon Empire. This was because the Harmon Empire was a boiling point of all species, magical or not, evil or not. Grandor being much the opposite found the Empire both unappealing and intimidating.

But knowing they would not last in a war, they asked for an alliance in the most common form. Marriage.

Mother had once told me that people had riots when word got out. That there were crowds of people for weeks on end protesting at the capital. It was a mess.

It was only when a visiting ambassador from the Empire duelled against Grandor's most esteemed general and won, that the truth sunk in. The ambassador wasn't even a Knight.

The Empire eventually came to an agreement and allowed the country of Grandor a minor princess of Harmon. The princess married the crown prince and soon became the queen. She gave birth to an heir and very soon after passed away. Apparently she was sick and although the Empire officially confirmed she was in fact poorly since birth that didn't stop the public from making up rumours of a planned murder.

Although she had a short reign as queen she didn't have an easy time. People were apprehensive to having a queen who in all technicalities was not human. None of the Harmon Empires royals were. They all came from a blood feasting race known as vampires. Of which there had once been a great many old wives tales about, but nowadays we read about them in newspaper corners.

Her inhumanness meant the first heir would only be half human. A fact that scared many. The king, however, apparently deeply in love with his new wife reassured that his son had so little vampire qualities it was disappointing.

Maybe it was because he was a child, but there wasn't as much fuss about him as about the queen. I had once came across an old article about her and winced. It was brutal. But it didn't last. It couldn't. Not if we didn't want a full blown genocide.

The king had made such post punishable by death and thus it had stopped in print but carried in whisper.

I spent a great deal of my youth wondering why the empire didn't just attack us. Why send a princess?

It was only when the crown Prince became an adult that it became apparent that the country of Grandor, was suddenly the official property of the Harmon Empire. Apparently the late king had signed for it before the marriage had even taken place and kept it under wraps for years.

So this year, when the crown Prince had finally run long enough without a bride, under the Empires tradition, an invitation is issued to every available lady of some sort of prestige to the crown princess selection process.

Something Grandor had never hosted before. A battle of young ladies, all thriving to rule their country.

Now I had nothing against the Empire or half-vampires. In fact I would be happy for whichever lady married the crown Prince and became queen, but I came to the capital with much different plans.

My family was a middle man merchant family with most of our income coming from my fathers delivery business. My siblings and I were all nurtured into the same merchant mindset. My eldest brother had opened many stores all catering to men's retail which were successful. And my other brother had started a chain of apothecary stores, also successful.

I, Madeline Crowden, had decided to finally take up the practice and learning from both brothers I had opened a few boutiques with built in make up parlours. It had been such a success I planned to open in the capital so I travelled half a week to stay a month at my aunts to set it up.

I had not expected this.

The Cursed Prince

This book is about baby-making. [COMPLETED on chapter 715] The crown prince was cursed on the day he was born, that he will never be happy. What's worse, no woman could touch him without dying. Thus, finding a wife to produce an heir became the royal family's greatest challenge since the prince is the only son. Until one day.. a servant girl who tried to kill him didn't end up dying after they touched. Emmelyn was a princess from one of their colonies who vowed to avenge her family's death by killing the crown prince. And that's how she ended up in his castle. Seeing that she was the only woman he could have a sexual relationship with, without killing her, the prince made an agreement to let her go and free her kingdom from his oppression if she produced for him three heirs. Emmelyn said yes, but every day that they were together, she made plans to kill him and get her revenge. Can Emmelyn get what she wanted, or would she be entangled deeper with the enemy who was deemed as the devil incarnate himself by his enemies? EXCERPT: "You will be the mother of my children," said the man in a commanding tone. His shameless words rendered Emmelyn speechless and shocked, more so, than the kiss he landed on her lips earlier. "I need three children from you." "Eh ... wait.. what? Hold on a minute," Emmelyn, who was moved from her shock, hurriedly rubbed her lips roughly as if trying to remove the devil's marks from them. "I don't want to be your wife! I don't want to marry you, you devil!!" The man frowned and squinted his eyes menacingly. "Who said anything about marriage?" THE NEXT DAY "Let's go," said the prince. "Let's go where?" Emmelyn asked, not understanding. "Let's go make babies." *** CHECK OUT MY OTHER BOOKS with all doting husbands: - The King's Wife Is The Alpha's Mate - ONGOING - The Cursed King - COMPLETED - Finding Stardust - COMPLETED - The Alchemists - COMPLETED - The Prince Who Cannot Fall In Love - COMPLETED - Till Death Do Us Part - COMPLETED I DON'T DO SLOW BURNS. Letters to Romeo.

[Mature Content. No Rape] 'All it took was breaking one rule that she was not supposed to' He was the bad boy with tattoos. She was the good girl with glasses, and she was his. — When Julianne Winters decides to move to the dormitory of the reputed University, she has everything planned so that she can complete her graduation and leave the place. But her plan is quick to catch fire from the moment the eyes of Roman Moltenore from senior year lands on her. And his appearance screams nothing but TROUBLE. "What rules?" Julianne asked with a frown as she read through the page. She was sure she hadn't seen any rules of the campus mentioned on their website. # 4. No using cell phones. # 12. Students should not roam outside the campus after eleven in the night. The further she read, the more bizarre it turned out to be. Her friend turned the page and then pointed at the last rule # 29. Listen to Roman Moltenore. "This is made up. Look, the last one is even written in pencil." Julianne couldn't believe that her friend from the next dorm thought she would fall for it. "And no phone?" "It is important you abide by all the rules. Especially number twenty nine," said the girl in a serious tone. "Remember not to get involved with Roman. If you happened to see him, run in the other direction. There is a reason why it is written down here." With the rules of the campus, she resorts to sending handwritten letters to her uncle. But who knew it would end up in someone else’s hand!
