Chapter :-50 The Onin War (Part-1)

After the spar, Kiyohime headed towards the Mikaelson compound located deep with the inner-circle of the Gerard family. She had been living in the [Shogunate Compound] for a long time after becoming the [Shogun of Kyoto].

The large mansion was very well maintained and had a furnished look to it; the previous [Shogun] fancied the estate quite a lot.

Every Gerard family elite was living within the quarters, together with the Mikaelsons. The whole place was covered with many spell traps, Hex traps, barriers, and whatnot!

Her master was a borderline, the paranoid person who was obsessed with keeping his family safe. Even going as far as combating [Ancient Gods], and sealing them inside the 6-pendant, he always carried with him before Freya awakened and took one of them.

Kiyohime was a very determined person, protecting and being useful to her master was the only thing she ever wanted or instead needed to do.

«Master has entered a light sleep for some time to recover from the injuries he sustained after overburdening his body and soul. He has asked Freya-sama to help out with the situation within the Capital.»

«I must take appropriate steps to curb any rebellion and must also stop any conflict going on within the Capital.»

She continued to walk inside, passing through a fair distance she could see tall pillars around the inner-most portion of the estate. On every single one of them, the symbol «M» could be seen shining under the brilliance of the sun.

She enters the encirclement of the pillars and heads towards the kitchen, upon entering the place the first thing she noticed was a beautiful woman with Silver-white hair, green eyes, and a beautiful face, cooking breakfast while wearing a white apron over her purple Yukata, strapped with a black obi.

Humming a light tune, she cooked her breakfast while also making some for her little brother who was still sleeping inside his room.

"Good morning Freya-sama....."

"Ohh...good morning Kiyohime-san, have you eaten already?"

"I haven't had my breakfast yet; I was busy sparring with Kojirou-sama...."

"Well then, come sit I am going to wake Henrik."

"Ok.."

After saying so, Freya walked towards the table with three plates in her hands and placed it over it. She walked towards the hanger and took off her apron before hanging it.

Finally, she walked towards Henrik's door and knocked a few times while Kiyohime walked towards the table and stood near her seat.

After a few minutes of continuous knocking, a white-haired young man opened the door, slightly peeking out the gap while rubbing his ocean blue eyes. He put a hand over his mouth and yawned before walking towards the bathroom inside his room.

He snapped his finger as the messed up room quickly fixed itself, he stood in front of a mirror, splashed water over his face, before cleaning his eyes and face, and brushing his teeth.

He finished walking up, exited the room and sat down on the table before sending a lazy "Good Morning" towards Kiyohime.

"Now that you have woken up let's eat!...."

"Thanks for the food!!!"

After saying a short prayer, the three of them started eating their breakfast with satisfied expression over their faces. During these 200-hundred years, Freya had made cooking her speciality, the absence of phone made it very hard for her to entertain herself.

So she poured most of her time, mastering her skills and newly gained powers while also learning to cook delicious food.

After Henrik subjugated Izanami, he and Freya received a few special abilities like [Immunity to Fear], [Domain:-Fear], [Angel of Death:-Asrael], [Soul Manipulation], [Greater divinity], [Ruler of Underworld].

[Immunity to Fear] as the name suggested, provided the user with complete immunity from debuff status due to Fear. No matter the level of danger the user is in, he wouldn't be afraid.

It was a pretty useful ability when combined with [Calm mind], it allowed over-obsessive people like Henrik to act rationally under any condition, even when the safety of his family was threatened.

[Domain:-Fear] was a domain type skill which induced debuff status Fear onto every living person within a specific range of the user. Fear will immobilise the targets while only someone with a high level of Willpower would be able to break free the domain. This ability didn't differentiate between friend and foe as everyone within a specific range will be scared under the effect of the domain.

Freya was immune to this ability because she also possessed the same abilities as Henrik, due to being the master of the pendant in which Izanami resided.

[Angel of Death:-Azrael], the user has a low chance to one-hit kill the opponent. His every move is filled with the essence of death, and even a small scratch can kill the opponent.

[Soul-Manipulation], as the master of Izanami, Henrik along with his sister Freya can manipulate souls of other living beings and can extract the soul from other creatures body, also able to perform techniques like Soul-transfer and Soul-steal.

[Greater Divinity], this skill allows Henrik and Freya to convert their [Force] into [Divine-attack] also boosts divine power-based attacks and abilities, meaning that all the abilities Henrik got from Amaterasu and Izanami were promoted due to this skill. It also allows better flow of divine energy through one's body, as Henrik can effectively channel Amaterasu's power and spam fireballs at the opponents.

Finally, [Ruler of Underworld], it allowed the user to summon Undead-souls from the Underworld to attack his opponents if the summoned souls are within a body. The power of this ability is boosted 10x times.

A normal human body would become as hard as reinforced iron, would have higher magic-resistance, Independent action-Ex, able to use weapons, techniques, spells, etc. The duration of this spell is equivalent to an hour.

Similar to [Ruler of Sun] ability, which gave him the ability to manipulate heat at his command. Other than this ability and [Calm mind], Freya too had the same abilities as Henrik.

"So what is going on within the capital nowadays?"

"Hosokawa's Eastern Army of about 85,000 and Yamana's Western Army of about 80,000 are almost evenly matched when mobilised near Kyoto."

"The fighting started in March when a Hosokawa mansion was burned. Then in May, a Yamana mansion was attacked."

"In July, according to Kojirou-sama, Yoshimasa appointed Hosokawa commanding general in an attempt to "chastise the rebel" Yamana. Kojirou states "heavy fighting continued throughout July" and "several hundred large buildings were destroyed, and destruction continued day after day".

"This is a direct insult towards the [Shogunate of Kyoto], they continue to amass soldiers even when we warned them against doing that."

"Their actions are a direct challenge to our absolute authority within Kyoto…"

"With the Emperor's agreement, we now have a proper reason to interfere in their family matter and also kill the trouble-makers."

"We will strike them and suppress them while doing so."

"Very well, .…. I ask Elder sister Freya to accompany her while she takes care of this problem."

"Of course not, maybe this little experience will be more fun than I had in the last two century…."

Henrik let out an awkward laugh before eating his food quietly.
