Part 278

" I know. But you don't know these men." Canary warned.

While Lisa and Canary talked in low voices Marcus and Ryan had already got for them seats.

As they sat down to have drinks, a girl approached Canary with a smile.

Canary's expression changed from relaxed to surprised, and he got up from his seat to talk to the girl.

" Canary, Is it really you ?" The girl asked and gave him a hug immediately.

After the hug she held his hand.

" Come and share with Mr a drink !" She said and dragged him away.

Lisa watched with interest, wondering who this girl was and what she wanted with Canary. Marcus and Ryan seemed to recognize the girl, and they exchanged a knowing glance.

"Who's that?" Lisa asked them, nodding towards the girl.

"That's Sophia," Marcus replied. "She's an old friend of Canary's."

Lisa raised an eyebrow, sensing that there was more to the story. "An old friend, huh?" she repeated.

Ryan leaned in closer. "Let's just say that Sophia and Canary have a bit of a history," he whispered.

Lisa's eyes widened with curiosity. She couldn't wait to hear more about this history.

Sophia took Canary by the arm and led him to the bar, chatting animatedly about their past. As they sipped their drinks, Sophia began to reminisce about their time together, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia.

Canary listened politely, but his gaze kept drifting back to Lisa, who was laughing and chatting with Marcus and Ryan. He couldn't help but notice the way she smiled, the way her eyes crinkled at the corners.

' She's busy smiling with other men, And yet she doesn't smile with me ?'

Canary asked himself bitterly.

Sophia noticed his distraction and followed his gaze. Her expression turned icy as she realized who had caught his attention.

"Canary, are you even listening to me?" Sophia asked, her voice tinged with annoyance.

Canary snapped back to attention, his eyes refocusing on Sophia. "Of course, I am," he lied. "Please, continue."

But Sophia's gaze lingered on Lisa, her eyes narrowing. "I see," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "You're still hung up on her, aren't you?"

" Excuse me!" Canary said and excused himself to the washroom.
