"So father, what happened after that? Did someone break the oath?" Ellie asked.

"Someone always breaks the oath." King Valerius answered. "How do you think the war happened?" He made a throaty laugh and then continued. "But before that, the other human hybrids especially the foxes and the dragons became uncomfortable with the fact that the werewolves were collaborating with vampires despite knowing how dangerous they were. They threatened to stop all forms of communication with us if we don't stop the alliance we had with them."

"And then what happened? Did they really carry out their threats?" She was more than curious even though she already knew what her father would reply to her with.
