Chapter 10

We eventually found two old flour sacks and stuffed as much canned goods on other food in the bags that we thought we could carry on us without slowly us down significantly. Now we were standing outside the cafeteria and looking through glass doors to the outside debating on what to do next. "My car is all the way on the other side of the school and I don't want to go outside without cover but I don't think we have another choice." "Yeah I take the bus here and I don't see any of those things still around, I guess we'll just have to go there hope we don't get noticed and hope your car isn't destroyed" Eli said. "Damn your right I didn't even think if my car was fine or not, but we have to go see otherwise we're gonna just have to walk our way there." The student parking lot was at the top of U shape of our school and had the football field in between it and the school. This was where my car was parked and so we had to cross the giant patio and garden area that was at the center of our school, then make our way across the football field, and then we would arrive at the parking lot where my car is parked and we would have to hope my car is not totaled.... "alright let's review the plan again, we're going to run through the courtyard, hugging all the bushes we can to stay hidden then we're going to make it to the football stands and hide underneath and make sure nothing saw us got it?" I told Eli "yeah, got it" he said. "Ok, then we're going to run under the stands until we can't anymore and then once we make it to the end of the bleachers we're run like hell until we get to my car, then I'm going to start up my car and we're skirtin out this bitch, got it?" I explained to Eli for like the tenth time. "Yeah I got, I'm ready, you ready?" He asked. "Never gonna be more ready so here we go." Without any more words me and Eli opened the doors to the courtyard and took off at a dead sprint towards our hopeful escape from this hell infested school.
